mercer transportation

Wrong thread my friend. However I've chat with drivers from other companies and I'd say; like any motorcycle brand. One's got something the other doesn't.

There is only 2 things I dislike at mercer while in my short life of all the other companies I've dealt with, this here is heaven.

What? Really? You've been around long enough to know the answer ... "it's included in the rate".

Tarp pay, like fuel surcharge, is all relative. Now would you turn down a $4/mi load just because they don't have a separate tarp pay? Every load is just a question of do I want to do this amount of work, tarp, stops, miles, etc. for this rate? How it is broken up doesn't really matter if the total revenue meets your approval.

The other I was unloading with another Mercer driver he had a really handy handheld strap winder not one of those you hook to the trailer, anyone know where to get a good handheld strap winder like that one

No it was metal with a U on the front as guide and standard fork crank and handle, but I like the plastic one too, is it durable? If so I'll order one b4 I get home

I got pulled over today on I-16 in ga , I was passing a container truck , with the cruise set at 63 . no traffic at all , a car had run up behind me and I got over soon as I was clear. next thing I know blue lights and I am on the side, a Georgia dot man. tells me he pulled me over for DRIVING TO SLOW AND IMPEDING TRAFFIC. then he tells me my eclipse logbook program isn't legal and he is going to shut me down for 10 hours, it was current and everything but todays log printed even.

he said it wasn't a valid eld, I said its not an eld. he said he couldn't accept my printed logs. so I explained it to him and showed him a couple of guidances I have copied and saved on he laptop.

needless to say, I was let go without a ticket or even a warning. it pays to know what ya talking about.


but anyway , pulled over for driving to slow. oh, heres the best part. I got on a mercer hat, mercer sweatshirt mercer mudflaps on trailer and tractor, mercer on the door, and the first question he asks!!!!! exact quote here " who do you drive for"""

 

Good for you for keeping cool and showing him the proof that everything is legit. Having that stuff saved on your laptop saved you a ticket and hopefully the next guy he pulls over that is using the same system but does not have the guidance saved or printed out!!

 

does anyone ever get the sense that there are plenty of loads and plenty of freight the day before you get somewhere and plenty of loads plenty of freight a day or two after you want to be out of that place? Strange.
