I've crossed Truckee at close to 12500 on the steers and they didnt say a word about it. Just be sure your tires and front axle are rated for it, some of these new "weight saving" trucks are only rated for about 12500 max.

his fifth wheels not going to help his trailer weight

he pick up in south Texas I believe

I'm guessing he wasn't in the Cal hole when he scaled, which showed him legal, now in cal they made him slide his tandems and now over axle, break the seal, fix the weight, this is the only option he has, if he is still at the scale house, Can't help him
loose_leafs and Lepton1 Thank this. -
I used to break the seals quite often. If I had a "hook" on a pre-loaded trailer with "hazmat" or "sensitive materials"...........the seal got popped! I would always let dispatch know this regardless of what the receivers instructions were. The plastic seals are a joke, as they can be melted back together where the little ball end pops into the socket. A couple drops of acetone or fingernail polish welds them back pretty solid. Most of the metal seals can be popped pretty easily and recrimped with vise grips.

He should have gone through Parker, AZ and up 95 to 40 and over 58.
Don't go through banning and the urban jungle unless you have to.Hammer166 and DoneYourWay Thank this. -
And it's not hard to dodge every scale from Parker to San Francisco using legal STAA routes
Hammer166 and DoneYourWay Thank this. -
I never cross a scale less there is no way around it.
Pedigreed Bulldog, tommymonza and Hammer166 Thank this. -
