Flatbed, regional route, 24% then to 26% after 3 months, 4 weeks training OR Van, OTR, .33 CPM, 2 weeks with trainer then 40,000 team, then solo

    What will pay more?
what is better for a new hire?

The Flatbed is a small company in ohio, Homerun Turcking. The OTR is PTL from murray KY

Most that pay percentage start at 25%When you say 40,000 are you talken between you and your team mate or you have you drive 40 k then go solo?If that 33cpm is split that would be 16 cpm,are you going to be able to live off that?I would be finding out what the miles are like because if there slow then it could take months before you reach 40k.

PTL has had quite a few bad reports here, I'd be inclined to go with the smaller flatbed company, but the transparency of the revenue split deal may be an issue.

Are these your only 2 choices?

PTL told me its 40,000 as the team. and they never mentioned at all if it was split the .33... if it is split, .16 is very rough to pencil and makes the choice simple.

These are my 2 offers that I have narrowed to from 4 original, the other 2 had less money starting at .30 and .31 cpm OTR

the flatbed has 10$ trap/ strap pay also.... so $20 a load extra is 100 a week more on a 5 load week.

just spoke with the recruiter and he all but promised me that if I want more driving on the weekend, they could find it... that could make a touch more money ???

none the less sounds like money will not be the factor of most important. they are close after taxes on a per week angle

The wanting to see the country sounds great for learning and beginning, but the lottery for a teammate seriously bothers me with PTL and 2-3 months of it....

Keep looking! Try Garner out of Findlay, Oh. 3 weeks with a trainer sitting in the passenger seat is much better that months with one sleeping in the bunk while you drive. Their website has the new pay scale and home for reset each weekend or 4 days on with 4 days off. Call Scott or Nathan and tell them Emma told you that you should find something better. Good luck!

26% of what. Your dependant on how they bid there loads. I would go with the percentage over the percentage. At least going on what little information is here.

I do not know your situation, but check ORGILL, they have several DCs(Hurricane, UT, Inwood, WV, Kilgore, TX, Sikeston, MO, Tifton, GA, Brampton, ON) both delivery and shuttle drivers:
