Going to Calgary for the first time.

    Traffic is reasonable unless it's freezing rain in Calgary .. Absolutely make sure your logs and equipment are up to snuff... The scale just past the border doesn't cut any slack if they inspect you .. Fuel is cheaper in Montana I'd top up in sweetgrass then your fine to go in and out ... You have a few truck stops on Barlow trail you catch it off Deerfoot trail (hwy2) which is the hwy into Calgary ...

    I found that if you cleared the border before 08:00 am or after 18:00 I didn't have any issues. If I crossed during normal business hours I always got pulled in for further inspection at Canada customs. Although they were always more interested in the freight paperwork being proper then myself.

    Watch the wind between coutts and calgary. Ive pulled a flat through there a lot of times and some days it's plain wicked. The flying j plaza has a nice bar and restaurant. Don't forget you get 13 hours of drive time once you cross in.

    I'm assuming u already over there...my bad...but I go in at night so usually 5 minutes for me...
