Ive been on this regional division for interstate dist for about 6 months and i can say this is one of the worst companys to work for right now.Im dispatched out of the Dallas terminal where it seems they can careless about the driver. Ive heard over the last few weeks 17 drivers have quit, not surprising to me because the miles are complete ####.How can a driver make it sitting at home every week 3 to 4 days due to lack of work.Being giving 1500 miles for a week at .37cpm aint nothing. And sometimes giving loads that dont exist or appointment times are totally incorrect.Lets not talk about the fact that they will barely answer your call and take forever to respond to qual comm messages. If you lucky to get a #### load like sanger, tx to okc which is only 153 miles you will most likely sit for the rest of the day because they try there best not to dead head you anywhere. They were brought out by Saltchuk 3 yrs ago but i feel like it was a bad investment because maybe there not overseeing the trucking busines that they brought to see drivers are not happy and not making anytype of profits. So with that being said if you wanna rake in a whopping $300 everyweek with dention pay on almost every load and also layover pay for sitting at truckstops weekly interstate is the place to be lol.I hope some of the big wigs see this post and really go after that trashy ### dallas terminal because it suck and we will continue to quit and bash them until it changes.

You just can't make a living hauling junk van/reefer freight at 37 cpm. I killed myself to bring home $800-$1000 per week pulling vans. I got into tankers a few years ago and wish I had done it sooner. It's not entirely Interstates fault. JB Hunt and Werner spent the 1990's driving van freight rates down to nill. Had rates kept up with the times, company drivers would be starting out at 50 cpm today. You can easily make 45 cpm and up pulling tanks. You can kind of see why I'm kinda biased against dry/reefer one way junk freight.

Ive done tankers also and it is good money but its also much easier to get those preventables over small stuff like a alcoholic type chemical falling out a hose .i try to play it safe n do containers, van, etc.

Sounds like the freight sucks out in your area. I'm still doing pretty good out west on the Refrigerated division. I have ran into a couple drivers in your area who weren't happy. Why haven't you left already? If you don't like it, leave......

Makes sense. Best of luck with that. I have been wanting to get my own truck for a while, but I have a pretty rough credit history, so getting financed is hard.

I got this buddy thats been trying to get me to hop on the band wagon for 2 yrs.He stayed away from trucking 8 months came back brought a truck then a ref then eventually got his own authority.Hes doing good and we started trucking about the same time.So because of him i learned how to get my credit score higher and clear up past wrong doings. Now my score is decent and ill try my hand with either landstar or schnieder n work my way to my own authority also.I cant do company driving no more especially after what interstate is pulling.Like u said u talked to a few of our drivers #### we starving on this region. And as for as you being financed, if you ever wanna get your own truck with rough credit you might wanna try Lone Mountain. Ive talked to them and they said its not about your credit score its more about a history of paying your bills they wanna see.

Not all tankers pull Haz Mat. I've pulled two Haz Mat loads. I haul lubricants and they are not placarded. Look into food grade or work for a private fleet if you don't wabt to get back into tanks.
