It's a CAC (charge air cooler) also called an air-to-air. It the thing in front of the radiator(or if you have a Maxxfarce International...radiators). Since the inception of putting EGR systems on diesels, they go out more often due to the excessive heat all the new engines generate.

Funny you mention the 5th wheel...I had mine give me a problem yesterday in the -2 weather as well. And the guy I waited on to drop his trailer at the next dock tried 3 times before he got his to stay unlatched so he could pull out. I wish they'd make a weather proof lube to keep the moving parts under there working without getting so thick it hangs things up in the bitter cold.

As for the car, it's entrusted to the terminal manager. If something were to happen while he allowed a driver to use it, they would hold him responsible. If something happens to the 80k lb truck or it's load while we're driving it, it's on the driver...he just wants to keep his cushy job.

Must not be any freight in the Joliet, Minooka area. Another short load to the St Louis area.

At at least my weights are legal, I CAT scaled the 16,000 lb load. ....
Told her I'd take the rest of the day off after unloading this.
And I will, as there's 2 casinos in the area.

I downloaded MyDAT trucker app today cuz it had a site on it called Hotels4Truckers. I thought the whole app was really useful. I also use google maps, Pilot app, and TruckerPath. Any apps that you all recommend?

I use the Pilot app all the time. I wish I needed the Blue Beacon more but we only get a company wash every 45 days so I just wait till I see one when convenient. They do a great job too. Love when the truck is clean.

I haven't been to a casino in years but I'm definitely gonna stop for a break this year. What you like playing?

I really like playing the stock market, but I like hanging at the bars, maybe playing a little on the slots.
I did see that the Trucker Path listed my casino with limited truck parking on it.
It was a secret, a small lot, and always a parking spot, sigh...

and usually if you get a players card, the first night you'll win at least a little.

Weatherbug is a great app. Great weather updates. Can view city traffic cams also. Use it everyday.
