they have a cell phone app that you just take a picture of the bill and it does the trip sheet for you and sends it in. My mentor is in the test group for it. I honestly cannot wait for that to go out to all drivers that want to use it.

Are you serious??? In-cab scanning is what this WHOLE vague video was about, or am I missing something? Transflo already has an app for this, Swift just needed an account.
I'd like to know what's really going on. This truck will not go to any terminal until I find out what this horse #### is all about. -
I saw some new 2016 Cascadias at the Memphis terminal last week with the automatics, one of the first things I noticed was a big sticker on the dash warning that the cruise control will be disabled when the windshield wipers are on. More babysitting from Swift for the incompetent people they stuff behind the wheel I guess.
-
Including the truck I trained in I've driven 10 different trucks since joining Swift. Of those two already had the function that disabled the cruise control when you engage the windshield wipers. It's inconsistent how they apply setups on their trucks. One thing I sorely miss is fog lights, not sure how eliminating them enhances safety.
DocWatson Thanks this. -
I heard from one driver whose truck would disable the cruise whenever the lights were on.

My jake will not work with my cruise control on. Only the adaptive cruise control will use it when the guy in front of you starts to slow down so it can hold following distance
-
You read almost any owner's manual for a car equipped with cruise and it says to not use it during any inclement weather. You go through any defensive driving course and they tell you the same thing.chalupa Thanks this.

Not sure if OnGuard changes the situation, but I use the jake with cruise control frequently. The jake will begin to activate about 3 mph higher than the set cruise speed, beginning with low and progressing to high jake as needed. I use this function to control speed of descent more precisely on long descents, or when not wanting to get surprised by overspending on rolling hills.
Absolutely true and I do turn off the cruise control when weather is "inclement". However, if I need to use the windshield wipers to clean off dust, grime, bugs, etc. it is nice to be able to do so without disengaging the cruise. I use cruise control if the windshield wipers are on intermittent in a light sprinkle with dry roads. Having the cruise disengage for ANY use of the windshield wipers is a tad over the top and a PITA IMHO.DocWatson, scottied67 and Moosetek13 Thank this. -
I agree with you that having the cruise disengage for "any" wiper use, to include the scenario's you listed would be a pain and unnecessary. Should be only steady wiper use. Maybe the system is not advanced enough to distinguish the difference at this point. Or maybe this whole thread is full of too much speculation at this point in the first place. Only time will tell.Last edited: Feb 26, 2015

Not advanced enough?
It is a totally different switch position! Not hard to distinguish.
