I'm confused by these 750 mile days. I do that now on e-logs! But we used to have a run from Georgetown, DE to Wilder, ID. Load Friday afternoon and be there Monday morning. A little over 2500 miles. You do the math!
they said it couldnt be done

Toledo to Denver - 1250+ miles. Back when National Carriers really was "the Elite Fleet"
joseph1135 Thanks this. -
Used to do the 1300 miles from Fontana California to Dallas in 26 hours with no problems at all. I wouldn't do that anymore and I'm on dedicated run pulling a tank nowadays and have elogs which work just fine for this run. Never ran one way irregular route freight with elogs nor would I ever do that. There are just too many variables involved that the driver has no control over.

Years ago when I was a Whee young Lad running Florida to Michigan 1462 miles .Best time was a little over 20 hours.
Running thru Georgia and Tennessee in the Dead of the night at 90 barely made up for running in Ohio at 55.
After being on that High running that hard and than hitting Ohio it seemed like you were almost going backwards at 55. I hate Ohio.NavigatorWife, OLDSKOOLERnWV, joseph1135 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Calgary, AB to Victorville, CA - 1490 miles in 24 hours. Breakfast and fuel then drop into L.A., unload then head to Oxnard, reload and nap.

Sanford Fl mkt to the Point...jus shy of 15 hours...also a semi regular trip...back in a different century.....lolCranky Yankee, Tonythetruckerdude, allniter and 2 others Thank this. -
my longest ever runs were in a personal vehicle. Bismarck nd to about 30 miles past victorville ca stopping for nothing other than to piss and fuel. 1500 miles
i did 1200 in a personal vehicle. bowling green ky to nd
in a big truck i think the most iv ever done is probably 750-800
i did California to Michigan in a pickup but did take a 3 hour nap part way because i was almost out of gas and came into a small town and the gas station was not going to open for another 3 hour and i didn't know how far to the next gas station so decided not to risk it and take a nap. that was a trip from hell i think i was 17 at the time and my 84 ford pickup blew out a heater core had to bypass the heater core had 0 heat it was February. had a ice scraper on the dash for scraping the inside of the windows.
even though to me its easier to run longer in a big truck the biggest difference is having to drive again the next day. i can cannonball 20-24 hours pretty easily but I'm shot the next day if i do.allniter and NavigatorWife Thank this.
