None of us will pull that cheap Houston freight, so they are trying to broker it out.

From my experience here, yes it is. However before rates started to rise again this week some might say $2 mi was ok.

On a side note, don't be surprised when fuel cost go up .10 - .15¢ tonight. I would fill my tanks today.

So, spyder7723, if you don't mind me asking. How long you stay out on the road when you leave the house? I also live in FL, and wonder if I have to stay gone for a month to make any money. Thanks.

I took six months off last year so I'm probably not the best to ask here. I normally stay out 10 days to a full two weeks. Then I start home about five days. What I would suggest is to make sure you position yourself in a prime market when ready to come home, that way you get a rate that has enough on it to give you the ability to bounce north if you need to.

Edit to add: when rates are up, you keep working. That way when rates are in the toilet like they are every winter, I can just stay home.

Well, I appreciate all the advice and talks from a few weeks ago. I pulled into Mercertown this afternoon, ready to start this new adventure on Monday. I didn't end up with the truck I wanted, but its hopefully for the best.

Welcome aboard! Good luck and God bless. If the weather is decent, I'm sure the grill will get fired up. Don't be bashful, join in and introduce yourself around. It truly is a "family" atmosphere. Don't forget to fill up on the "kool-aid!" 😁 😂

I was talking to a friend that just finished indoc and is sticking around for the show. I think he said they are firing up the grill at 2pm. If I was you I would make sure to get out and say "Hi". Like said above, it will feel like family in no time. You won't meet a nicer group of people.
