Port Allen, LA at Love's.
I had a nice 0400 start this morning to make my delivery at 0900 a few miles from here.
Did a Mac 30 last night before bed, wasn't crazy about any of the three so ignored it.
Tried it again before I started this morning and got the same offers. 2 to Cicero, IL and one to NY. I took one to IL.
It's really pushing my 70. I'll only have 1.5-2 hours to spare to get it there sometime on Sunday - before pre-trips, fueling, delivering...
I shut down here (at 1330) because I-10 EB is backed up and crawling because of an accident, and I'm not going to waste that little bit of time in accident traffic.
I'll head out at 0500 or so tomorrow when traffic should be light.
Good Night From II

In sunny Florida at wally dc in Acadia. Got offered a dedicated run from Miami to anywhere up the east coast with multiple stops and mt back haul. Brand new account.
OceanDan Thanks this. -
It was an overturned camper from what I heard.
Hopefully it is not the norm at 0500.
I have a wide delivery window with this load, so at least I won't be late. I've still got 2+ days to do 955 miles. -
Any idea what the pay is like?

jv terminal. had an easy one pickup. loadd me in about 30 min. then dropped at ross in perris. asked for a local run and picked up a load in riverside ca and dropped it here at walmart thats located in the terminal. couldnt find an mt there so drove to this side and found a couple near each other. so grabbed the newer one. called my dm to asked if i'll have any problems doing the mt call putting this mt trailer on it. he said there was another truck on it already. i said no there wasnt. and this is when the problem started. he said he call me back. he did a few minutes later, saying that he couldnt give it to me since that other guys load doesnt p/u till monday. since my load pick ups same day, that it wouldnt be fair. so, i gave him the other trailer number. he said theres an issue with that one to. then he preceeded to tell that they dont give mt's till 24 hrs b4 load. i said bs, i've got mt on fridays before with no issues. he wouldnt budge after i told him that i'll be gone most of the weekend and wont be back till late sunday. so said ok, i wont be able to do the load then. hung up. then i found a newer mt trailer. walked into dispatch window and gave him the trailer number. he said it was good to go and dispatched me. got back to truck and see a message from some fm here and said i was to disconnect from trailer since my load doesnt pick up till monday. guess my dm got mad. tough. went back to dispatch window and he said he didnt have number to the ross planner. i said can he message him saying i wont be able to do load monday cause my dm and fontana management are being pricks. he did but wouldnt put everything i said lol. by time i got back to truck load was removed. i'll see what this bonehead says when he sees me monday.

You might be able to just hook to the trailer but don't plug in the pigtail. It won't ping a connection to your truck but this tactic would only work if you are planning on staying parked under this trailer all weekend. You know, like hook to it then go park mixed in with everyone else blended in, no one knows the difference. Then on Sunday tell them to hook you to it lol.
I used to go home for 7-10 days with the Swift trailer and just unplug the pigtail-- after a few hours the onboard battery dies and it stops pinging-- otherwise every hour on the hour when the qualcomm fires up it would see the trailer connection and send tractor and trailer pings. -
DP...those are some of the "side" issues that I'm getting really tired of too. And it just keeps getting worse, especially in the Houston and DFW area. My terminal has over 600 good trailers locked down just for the end of the year holidays for Walmart already!!! It's become a nightmare to get a trailer after home time. I'm getting very tired of hunting through the terminal for hours, off the clock, for a #### trailer.

At the T/A in F'ingham IL. Drop in SW Ohio early in the AM, run down the road a little and pick up a preload for South Carolina.
Sure been getting a healthy dose of the country's mountains lately. As long as the good runs keep coming it's all good. -
Wow.
Planners, drivers and FM's all fighting over mt trailers.
Who would have thought.
We want to ensure our next load, and they want to be sure every driver has an mt.
We don't have to worry about other drivers that have an earlier dispatch - but they do.
I've been in the same situation many times.
Guess what?
If they can't get me my mt in time for the pick up, I pick it up a bit late.
No service failure, and no problem.
It is NOT a competition!
It IS, however, an exercise in team work.
