So how do you and your one year of experience claim so much knowledge? Or was that whole "Trucker? How many years?" question a head scratcher for you?

I first drove in 1993, took a few years off, drove some more. Driver complaints than were very similar to
todays problems. Magazine articles were very similar to now. To many regulations, every thing was the guvments
    fault.............

Trucks are very different today. I wish I could have my 3406B Model back.....best engine ever built. Some
things are better, some are worse......

I've got more hours sitting on the toilet than he does driving.

Do those miles count to your Million Safe Miles Award? :)

The Marx allusion from earlier really shouldn't be considered a "bubble", rather an undermining of the foundation. Reading Adam Smith, Marx, Hobbes, Locke, etc (the guys who wrote the blueprint for the modern economic and political framework) and each of them talk about the necessity of those in power needing to be cognizant of the workers. Smith does an entire chapter on the how labor is the only true currency and that most beneficial innovations will come from those directly involved in work (ie listen to your employees).

Second and third generation management (whether they're the children/grand kids of the founders or outside hires) tend to lose sight of the core values that created the company in the first place. In the modern trucking world I see this reflected in the number of lease/fleece opportunities, the 1099 jobs that pay LESS than being a company driver, the abundance of brokers/brokered freight.

Employees also lose respect for second/third generation management. We look at the kid "born with a silver spoon" get "handed an empire on a silver platter". We're less likely to go the extra mile to save a buck than when we know the founder and how he's busted his ### to create opportunities for us.

That guy was lying, I work here. I have been here over a year and half, I still love it. It's all what you make of it. Talk to anyone of our drivers in person and you will see for yourself.
