I know that taste is a very personal thing... maybe I should say a cultural thing... I am sorry you all but IMO Americans have a very poor and unhealthy taste for food... I know... that's what they know... have been eating like that all their lives... they love their greasy fried everything, heavy condiments, bacon, sugar, artificial food, and have no idea how to cook vegetables or prepare salads... Probably Americans are soooo used to their food and cooking that would find any other kind of food flat and un-flavored... I understand...

I had a nice lunch at a self-service restaurant today... Most of the food was gone cause the place was about to close when I arrived...

But I could still fill my dish with delicious cooked vegetables, brown rice, seasoned salad...

I love that liquid sauce they make in any restaurant... chopped tomatoes, green onions, onions, green peppers, salt, peeper, vinegar, olive oil and some other spices... All fresh, all home made... no pre-cooked food that comes in a box... :biggrin_25512:

They had two kinds of rice, white and brown, two kinds of cooked beans, two kinds of pasta and spaghetti, several kinds of salads, many kinds of cooked vegetables with spices and delicious seasoning.... all fresh cooked, nothing from cans... Oohh... why can't we find food like that in America? :biggrin_25513:

They also had several kinds of meat, and souffles, lasagnas and other stuff that doesn't exist in America like "pastel" and "farofa"...

I am gonna miss all this food when I leave Brasil... :biggrin_2557:

Americans know how to cook, it's just a choice not to. But my my that looks yummy!

...though have you all heard of the newest stadium food? Apparently stadiums in the states are trying to outdo one another with the food they serve.

The newest? It's 20$. 18 inch braut, topped with fries, gravy, cheese curd, fried jalapeños, and sauerkraut. That gets topped with cheese sauce and a sour creme and chives mix.

Welcome to the home of the Milwaukee Brewers. Ugh...after reading that again I think I'm going to need to start taking heart pills...

Back to work today , hopefully get enough work this shift to make a couple of $
last shift was a bit slow.
got temps hovering around freezing to just above so going to get a bit easier on the body but a bit harder once it gets muddy to get around on the lease roads.

    Rocks Thanks this.
