It wasn't CR fault and he didn't get killed but I bet he needed new underwear. A oversize hit the beams as it went under and cr just happen to be in the wrong place wrong time. It killed a driver in a pick up truck.

Here is a better story from local news with vids and pics

I have RA , as in Rheumatoid Arthritis , It requires me to be VA once a month to get injections so I'm home monthly , I like to take it all at once , but sometimes a stray Dr. Appt of another nature may require me to alter from that policy and have to do 2 shorter stints at home in a month , but is usually maybe just twice a year that pops up. Sometimes the Rheumatologist appt just clashes with when I need my Injections , then sometimes I'll purposely take a couple days at home knowing I want to go out 3 weeks then home again for a long holiday !
I use my calendar on my cell phone to plan up to 3 months ahead so I know when I need to do what , every now and then my planning isn't so good and I might have to ask them to get me home twice in a 10 day period , but they know I'm pretty good on not putting them in that situation so they don't frown on it much.

So , there I sat Friday with another poly that mt'd shortly after I did , Sam's in Greenfield In. at about 2pm Central time I decided to tell them that I'm 200 miles from the house , and if nothing pops today how about running it up the food chain to see if the house is an option vs requesting retail layover on this load , you then can look around Monday for something out of the Florence KY area and the out of route is down to a 100 miles at that point. The food chain sent the okay back on it , so I'm an unscheduled & unexpected couple days at home. Love getting paid hub miles to the house at .50 PM avg especially when it's 200 home. I was actually shocked they okayed it , but the retail layover pay probably makes it to the point that either way there's no loss and maybe they like the loads from Cinci area more anyway. I know we have a couple places near Mason and Hamilton OH that offers a pretty good paying BH.
It's easy to be happy when you're basically happy with what you do 29 days out of 31. Good day all !

Emptying out in Ft. Worth this a.m. then back to GP to pick up my home time load. Been a fairly productive tour. I will be home after 6 weeks and 1 day out. Will have turned over 17k between the time I pulled out of my driveway and the time I will be pulling in. For the 1st quarter miles I've turned in as of this morning I will be around 11,900 for the month and 32,500 for the year. So, I've run enough miles in 3 months to take all of April off if I wanted, and still be above Poly's minimum required miles.(not that I would, but it's nice to have a big surplus)

One of the things I wish they'd change here are these super single tires...I picked up my home load, 2 of the SS trailer tires had just been replaced, the other 2 were in decent shape. I didn't make it out of TX before I noticed one of my tires looked funky. Pulled off, and sure enough, one of the older tires had picked up a nail and was down in the 60psi range. I got out my air hose and carefully pumped it back up over 100 and eased it to Greenwood, LA...I now see a screw or nail head sticking out and leaking loud enough to hear in a busy truck stop. Thankfully I found it before it went completely flat and left me on the side of the road...got Michelin on the horn and they are getting things lined up to get it fixed or replaced.

Another 6-7 day break at the homestead coming to an end tomorrow. Taking an infrequent trip to Phoenix out of the PW yard so won't have to leave until tomorrow afternoon for a Wednesday morning delivery.

Got the grill fired up for some chicken wings and a couple of cold ones in the fridge for a nice evening at the house. Been running well at the poker tables and betting on the NCAA hoops to cover my lost days on the road. Putting in just about the same amount of time daily but at least home every night which is nice.

Had to replace the water pump on my old jalopy while here. Hopefully it holds up for a while before any other repairs needed.

I'm not doing that good but If things just stay the same for me I'm looking at a 15k increase of last year so that's good.
