Well, had a short week due to going home...but came off home time with a run to Colton CA then back to Wilmer TX so 3400 miles on next check. Now headed from Austin TX to Franklin MA - another 2K miles. Gonna take a reset then roll from there...

tucker and Wild Murphy Thank this.

I've tried both. If you're not a night owl, you'd likely do better with Crete. Both are good choices.

Good. I'll bet it feels good to get out of reefer. I try to control my hours so my schedule doesnt get flipped. When it does flip i feel like every minute is consumed by making sure i stay rested so i can drive. I could never do reefer. Love the dry van side. I respect those reefer drivers though. They haul the good stuff.

they actually use a drivers BMI (body mass) and neck size to determine who gets tested. It use to be a BMI of 35 or 38 and a 19 inch neck on men...not sure if it's different for women.

As far as companies doing it. Some of the mega-carriers do it like Schneider and Prime. But I think they have similar screening procedures as Crete/Shaffer.

The trucking legislators are trying to figure out a way how to force every driver to be tested. But they can't figure out how to make it a legitimate requirement without causing massive departures of drivers from the industry.

As far as wawtrucker's question about directions...they have directions for most customers, but many are provided by drivers who delivered there or by the customer themselves. As far as whether they're good directions...just like any company some are, some aren't. Google Maps is a good backup to check their accuracy. When I was at Crete, it seemed as though many times I was coming in from a different direction then where the directions author was coming in, but it gave me a general idea of where the customer was, so adjusting my route was easier.

You still out of the Deland yard? Rae still the manager? She was one of the few people with the title 'manager' I got along with or had any loyalty to.

Yes and yes. I have also faired well with the Deland staff. By the way, I respect the adjustment you have made. I'm working at a few adjustments as well.
