Not possilbe to go from your checking to your card. No discounts I've heard of for anything other than fuel. If you use the card account to write a check for parts or maintenance there will be a check charge also, 25¢ I believe.
Where you can also save money is know what states Mercer is tax exempt in and buying parts and getting maintenance there.

I think it is around $100 per year, call safety and ask what the current policy is. Every person in the truck does need to be specified as far as I know. There are legitimate legal reasons for this. Get caught with unauthorized passengers and it's immediate termination I've been told. Lots of drivers (not necessarily Mercer) will rat out drivers for things like that, don't know why.
When I had my own company I had a driver call in and "report" a passenger in one of my trucks. First, how do they know it is not a team operation? But anyway, I asked for a description of the passenger, and the guy did that and felt he had to add "you know he's on a cell phone and that's not legal in a CMV" ... in the passenger seat mind you. Oh, the passenger was authorized, it was ME riding with my driver .... I should have turned myself in? -
Ok thanks. So I guess I'll just have to get the advance on the card for fuel to be able to get the fuel discount. No problem. Today is a good day to soak up some knowledge. Thanks Roshea
OONewbie Thanks this. -
If you build up funds in a reserve account you can have that available also. You can transfer it to the fuel card immediately, or withdraw to your checking account for deposit next day (if you call it in before 3pm).OONewbie Thanks this.

Truckin Juggalo said: ↑Yes I have 30% going there too. It's to cover taxes and repairs. But for anyone reading this, 30% is a lot. I only went that high because I knew I was either going to rebuild the motor in this or buy a new truck. 25% is probably a more reasonable for most people. I have more then enough for the rebuild already. But the more I think about it, the more a new truck with warranty sounds good. Wait did you say you only pay yourself $500 a week? You are a better man then me. I know I spoil myself a lot but I'm not sure I could live on that a week. I thought I was saving a lot here. I might need to reconsider what a lot is. Lol

Yeah I pay myself 500 a week but once a month I pay myself 500 plus 1,000 to pay all my bills for the month. Guess what I said was kinda misleading.CJndaTruck said: ↑Wait did you say you only pay yourself $500 a week? You are a better man then me. As for the reserve I have every intention of increasing it to either 30 or 35% after I get my title in the fall -
So you could have a maintenance reserve set up with Mercer??? That'll be nice so I could just have a % going in there, then a % for fuel then the rest deposited into my business account and just pay myself weekly or biweekly. That could work perfect. I hope I'm reading the info correctly but correct if I'm wrong.
