Random LTL Rants (all are welcomed)

A verbal warning from dispatch to not jump around on friday. Friday jumped around anyway and made every appointment on time. Thinking well ahead, set my trailer up very nicely to work around delivering and pickups. I wanted to go home in 8 hours, did my goal.

Punched out @ 8 hours, On way home get a phone call from dispatch. Shaggy told you not jump around!. Yeah and I told you to never call me off duty after I've just worked a shift- Click... ( any problems should of spoke to me in person, seen him leaving and never said a word. Phone warrior )


This new dispatcher is fresh out of college first 40hr+ job in transportation. Grievance filed for harassment . I tried in the past and so have others to work with the fella, he just doesn't understand, Have to improvise and get crap done.

Absolutely hate filing this petty crap.

Tons of our routes run up there and of course you're on a schedule, know the road, assume that everything is fine in front of you

until it isn't............................

what do you mean by jump around

 

Playing ping pong inside a commercial complex of 6 appointments. Seen a open door bounced in and bounced out. No wasting the clock. My route, Had very important things to get done after work friday. Wasn't taking a personal day. Knew it could be done, fridays always slow paced, Sped it up !

 

New space cadet wasn't grasping the concept of getting crap done right now,Follow his routing to the T... Gave a earful off duty calling me. I Should of never answered the phone. Nothing was wrong with anything, In person never spoke up.

It's been 6 weeks now, His routing sucks big dirty HIV balls.

I try to give new dispatchers the benefit of the doubt, which can be hard. In the midst of a busy day, a p/u that throws a wrench in the works is very frustrating and can take a well laid plan and turn it into a race against closing times.

 

We have all tried, It just simply isn't working out. At our barn Grievances rarely fly around.
This special Manboy is making it very difficult.We Tried adapting, No go, Manboy had strings pulled to get the job. Trying to be PC about this.
