Yep you are right my guess about 2% will leave because of cameras. The rest will take it up the ###. my guess most likely next year around this time L/O will have to get them installed. unless there is a big big exodus from the company drivers. Which I highly doubt.

Yall are correct though, much uproar, probably won't see as many follow through. Personally, I'll be driving for another company in the near future. -
I like the mind control cheerleaders on here lol. Yes today's camera only saves critical events etc. but what about tomorrow's camera?
Some of you remember the old qualcomm, it was strictly satellite communication. You could park under a tree and block the signal. The next generation uses satellite/cell/wifi.
Once they have the drivers they want (meek little mice that drink koolaid by the gallon) that's when they will 'upgrade' the cams to full live wifi streaming back to headquarters. The movie Speed was 21 years ago, you will recall the camera feed from the bus was live.... -

My take on the camera issue....I fully understand the need to control costs, i. e. lawsuits the the like; however, what it boils down to is my husband's 36 + year tenure as a driver, and his dignity. Regardless of what is said about the period of time the camera is on, the thought of "is it on now" looms over one's head and becomes a distraction to the task at hand. What would be a beneficial and interesting exercise to observe would be for Mr Stocking to volunteer to have a camera installed in his office, then in his personal vehicle, and finally in his home to simulate the 24/7 threat that big brother is watching and listening to perhaps his every action and word. In effect, this is what he is asking of his drivers. Don't get me wrong, I am most grateful for the brand new truck that they gave my husband to drive, the supportive driver manager, and of course the raise we are all getting soon.....but the installation of cameras in the cab is wrong. Do we need to worry about using the restroom in the Phoenix (or any other) terminal for fear we are being recorded?

Swifts gonna have enough footage to create a good porn off my cab, considering all my lizard friends.
