When I worked there Out of Route was figured as a percentage of your miles. The trucks have EZ-Pass. A truck atlas is $15. If you use your head for something other than a hat holder it ain't hard to figure out how to get from point a to point b within 10% of the paid miles using said atlas.

As far as money and hometime it's all a matter of what account you're pulling for. I was sleeping in my own bed every night after working at Schneider a bit over 9 months. If they can't deliver what you need, put in a year, don't run into ****, and move on to greener pastures. I've been driving a bit over 10 years now and have done most of that in a daycab. Where I'm at now, we're hiring guys with no experience (and training a couple guys from the warehouse on the company dime). They make $20 an hour (and earn it). If you're the kind of person who's going to passively sit there and whine that you aren't making any money or getting home, well, it sucks to be you.

Good check warhippy, I rarely sat, and if I do, I just call and 5 minutes later I'm rolling again. My managers are great and pay me for everything. like I said, if your lazy, don't complaint about your check, you gotta work and your paycheck will show it

WOW, those are some good numbers, I am going to do Dedicated for Georgia Pacific, I hope to make some decent money, if it goes well then I may try to do tanker after 6 months.

I just recently finished with bulk training and am picking up my truck tomorrow. And some drivers did leave due to the recent workflow problems.

How long was training? And what kind of work flow problems is it harder to use?

Actually a LOT of drivers have 'moved on' I'm on the bulk side and have had lots of issues with the new workflow, most of it around trailers not clean or not repaired but still assigned! Long waiting time getting thrr on phone to resolve problems, pay, and sitting over weekends! I can say it is improving, still waiting to see how long it takes to get my miles back to what it was before. Good luck to all new drivers, hang in there!

I first tried out trucking 18 years ago but only stayed a few months. Schneider was the second company I worked for. All that you wrote about was true. Then as I'm sure it is now. Even orientation was nothing but negativity. The branch manager gave a great speech about how tough everything was goin to be. The so called trainer told me over and over "think its hard now? Guess what it gets worse" On top of that they didn't let me wear a cowboy hat. Some BS about avoiding "negative stereotypes. Orange is a dreadful color for a truck.

Question..... I have a buddy and he also just got his CDL's. He is a Pakistan and he is going to go drive for a Pakistan company. He is telling me that he will have to run teams for 3 months and while doing that he will get paid 2200 per team per week to run Virginia to Cali. So he will make 1100 per week, without taxes. Once he goes solo he said he will be making right at 5000 a month. Does that even sound right? It's paid by the load, I think that sounds crazy for a new driver and for a team. I mean paying a team 2200 for a 5 day run sounds high. I guess it's little depressing knowing that I wont make anything close to that driving with Schneider my first year.

dont believe everything thing you here or least 25% I guess lol but yes you can make 1100 a week as teaming as a Schneider driver. You will run hard and have crazy hours but you can. I did it for Schneider for 6 months as a team running from West to east and made around 1100-1200 a week but I woke up and found something better running less as a solo and still making 1200. It can be done though
