Are you applying for a permit? I think you need a cdl before adding endorsement. But don't belive me

wouldnt hurt to take all at same time. will save you some money. and you can take the endorsement tests at same time as you take the permit test

Just got my permit on Monday. In Oklahoma, you can only get a tank endorsement on your permit. Not sure if it's the same in other states.

I did mine over 2 days got General, Air Brakes, Combinations. The rest on day 2, that way you're not trying to cram so much information at once. It's not going to cost more, at least not in MI. You tell them what endorsements you want, then they won't cut you a paper permit until you've passed them all or dropped the extra endorsements.

I toke them all at once. Took 10minutes, cost $10, passed them all, (air brake, triples, tanker, haz-mat, passenger, school bus.) No big deal. Otherwise in my state each test costs $10 each.

I added them one at a time. Got Hazmat after my first year for LS, then later found out I needed tanker for the occasional van load with liquid totes.

you can't get your HazMat with a permit, you have to have the full license first before you can get the endorsement and get fingerprinted

"The only endorsement you can get on a permit is Tank." (Retraction...sorry) While you can't get the HazMat endorsement until you have your full license, you can get the process started early. Same goes for your TWIC. You can pre-enroll online and then visit a UES center in your area to get fingerprinted. Depending on your criminal record (or lack of) the time it takes to complete the process and receive your HazMat/TWIC can vary quite a bit. I am starting CDL school later this month. They suggest that you pre-enroll and go get fingerprinted before the first day of class. If you have a clean history, your state's DMV/DPS should be notified that you are eligible for the endorsement before you graduate. This allows you to have the endorsement when you leave the school. My understanding is that the TWIC process is taking longer lately. I just called the system, and it says that the process is taking more than 75 days for some applicants.
