A truck lease operator today ask me would I be interested in buying 25-50 gallons of fuel at a discount rate. After telling him I am a company driver and wasn't interested he begin to tell me while washing clothes he didn't have money to eat for the week and couldn't get another advance since his truck was in the shop. I ask the guy how many miles he worked this week and he replied 2800 and it all went to the truck fees..etc. He cleared 95 bucks this week and didn't have money to pay his cell bill . After hearing all the crap his company is doing with these leases I literally had a barf moment. Hell I treated the guy to lunch and wish him well. I don't know a lot about lease purchase but it sounds like dart is full of 40 thousands llbs of horse ####

They treated one guy right. Same deal as "our top company driver earned $94,000 last year!" ... Yeah but the bulk of them earned 60-65 ..

There's good weeks and bad weeks when you have truck expenses. Anyone who lives payday to payday like that will likely always be broke no matter how much money they make.

I can understand someone in their 1st weeks or months of driving being in a situation where they're that tight for cash but some people just can't live within their means. Nobody made him do a 'fleece' deal.

You fell for that line? I had guy trying to sell me oil in the men's room at the Montgomery TA at 2 in the morning ... another one begging for cash for a fuel filter at a service plaza in CT. Said he was a Swift L/O and pointed to a Swift company truck saying it was his.

Who cares if he was legit!! The dude helped out a fellow human. This doesn't even seem that far off the mark at what some guys are making. Maybe he will change his life around because the op helped him. Thank you sir for your kindness. This world needs more people like you.

You mean the world needs MORE suckers.

Anyone not having enough money in his pocket for so much as a hot dog, does not belong leasing a truck,. To me, the beggar was just that, a beggar. Does anyone have positive proof the truck he pointed out as actually his?

It would have been a very laughable joke had another driver climbed up into it and took off. Would the hand out then be taken back, or still given out of pity for a beggar?

As long as anyone continues to enable a beggar, they will be around. They will bring in more people begging. When does the insanity of giving out cash come to an end?

The beggar will NOT go to work, as the freebies come along.

If the beggar was indeed a l/o and had no money, again, screw him, no one put a gun to his head to sign a lease. So many have dreams of gold paved roads. When in actuality the roads have way too many pot holes, that these moronic l/o fail to even consider, all because they want to be their own boss, and IN control of their own destiny.

Fine, wanna be in control of your own destiny..??

Then get out of the l/o deal and work for a living with out the pipe dreams of getting rich quick.

I had a gentleman approach me at Petro, OK City, OK and tried to sell my diesel at fifty cents on the dollar using his fuel card. He was in a pickup. I used the word gentleman loosely. It was really weird. I quick turned him away.
