Better stop bickering. Someone will complain, and you will get banned. Remember you are not allowed to have a discussion on here. You must agree with every thing that is said.

The thing about all this bickering is certain people don't seem to want to acknowledge the average! Mercer states the average is $2/mile to flats. That doesn't mean everyone averages $2/mile. So when a guy comes on here and states they see crappy rates, they are seeing one side of that average! People portray a unrealistic picture of what they see on the load board, or act as though no low paying freight exists at Mercer, or Mercer trucks aren't hauling low paying freight! Take the load I posted, for that $2.77/mile, there were far more loads posted at significantly less! It's math, the only way to get down to $2/mile from $2.77 (assuming no dead head) is a lower rate, otherwise I would be at a $2.77 average!

At least one guy that wants to debate this, states he averages roughly $2.20, unless every load he hauled was $2.20, he was paid less than that on some loads, and more on others! It's math and not very complicated math either! I bet he isn't going to come on here and tell us about the loads he hauled that bring his average down, hence the unrealistic picture! If he's at $2.20 and the average is $2, that means someone is at $1.80! The disagreement comes in when he assumes that the other guy wants to run at $1.80, when in fact that person may not have a choice!

I do not understand why "A" can post in response to "B" and "C" has to tell "B" what "A" did not say and how to believe / understand "A". Some folk just make an open forum seem like a courtroom exam .Most of what I have seen on this thread is supportive and spyder7723 is one of the more accurate posters. ####, now I'm doing the first part of my post...

    It's posts like these......
That makes me pay very little attention to these rate discussions by these two.

We all have a choice to haul the loads we want to haul. Mercer is not forced dispatch.

When guys complain about rates, it's because the are limited by choices! No disrespect to you because I'm leased here as well, but being leased you are forced to take what's available, sit, or drive empty! So, if I have bills then I have to run & take what's available to me! I will leave my house at some point this week, I will log on to Mercer's board and see what's offered, regardless of whether or not I think the rate is good, I will be forced to take something if I want to work! That load may be a good rate or it may be a bad one, but it all comes down to what's offered by Mercer! If you disagree with that then I guess we disagree!

Let's all not forget that this is the Internet. Point blank period. People say stuff just because whether it makes sense or not they just like being argumentive. I don't like getting in these discussions because I'm not good at going back and forth when someone is deliberately looking to stir the pot so to speak. Only concern I have are the rates I'm getting and I'm new so I'll tell someone who ask me that I'm still leanrning but I've seen 3 other drivers settlements when I was in orientation and all three gave the same advice and that was pre plan. Honestly if anybody read the whole thread @skateboardman consistently says that it's the man in the mirror who's booking the load. Heck I told my coordinator only place I'm taking less then 2.00 PM is from home. I study the board on the east coast and can't speak for out west but it's plenty of freight paying well over 2.00 PM. I tarped my first 6 loads. Also my coordinator called me on a load paying $5700 going to Oregon and I turned it down. Because the deadhead out would've cut the rate in half and I remember when spyder and skateboard said don't be tempted to take that high dollar load to the NW. Low and behold I talked to a guy at the yard who said I did the right thing because he sat a week in Oregon. (Rant over)
