    Hello All.

Have a question for you -

Does the low air buzzard need to also beep along with the alert on the dashboard? What if one works and the other doesn't? Or does both need to work.

The buzzer and light should work in conjunction with one another. What pressure do your gauges read?

    JJKid Thanks this.

If the buzzer and the light don't come on together, then one or the other is probably malfunctioning.

    JJKid Thanks this.

The warning just has to alert the driver. I don't see where the form of warning is regulated.

    JJKid Thanks this.

393.51 (2) An air system must have a gauge and must have either an audible OR visual warning for low air pressure to the person in the normal driving position that provides continuous warning when the pressure falls below 55 psi. Both are not required...

    Thanks all.

Yes my air gauges work, and I do get a visual warning but no buzzard WHEN I START THE TRUCK. The reason why I am inquiring is because I am well aware that my low air buzzard doesnt work and it's a cluster problem. Issue started two weeks ago. It will cost me about $1,500 to get it replaced - and what makes things even worse -

I was pulled into a scale (I380 SB IOWA) for a DOT inspection last week and I kid you not - TWO State troopers were in the scale house fighting with each other about why one trooper doesn't want to issue a violation to this driver and why another one wants to put him out of service and this is all because of the low air buzzard.

They were going back and forth with some interesting remarks towards each other:

"A persons deaf, he cant hear the buzzard but can see the visual warning"
"A person is blind, he cant see the low air warning but can hear the buzzard".

Which leads me to believe, its an either/or type of thing..atleast I think it is.

So yes, I am willing to get this replaced if it is needed. I dont care how much its going to cost me. I just dont want to be in this exact same scenario and have one officer trying to me put OOS and another not wanting to give me a warning.

Hoping Scalemaster, KeithT and anyone else can chime in on this particular issue.
