(Knocks on door) anyone still here?
On my way to deliver to MD than hopefully up to the house, picked up in CA, so this one sets the record in trip length for me lol, no shortage of miles so far. That being said, I'm looking forward to a few days home to decompress, hopefully get some riding done( the weather has seemed to go against me everytime I got home for the past year), and get my physical renewed.

well....finally got home, got a new medical card, and was nice to get back to a full year's clearance. the bad part is a nasty cold that messed up my voice and ears, hopefully I can get that out of my system. hoping the weather clears up enough so I can get the bike in for inspection, been a looong time since I rode, wanted to take care of that a month &1/2 ago, but my old company screwed me on hometime for that weekend. got my new microwave so I can head back to the rig Monday to install it, get the apu going so I can have the fridge cooled back down when I head back out Tuesday, then out for all of june and hopefully home for the fourth....now if this #### weather will let me ride!!! lol

Whats the difference between holland and Great planes transport?
-
I'm not sure. Just want I read on here and by comparing the driver pages on each perspective companies website. Maybe some of the guys that are working for them now can answer that.

Two businesses within the same family. GP has blue Cascadias and Holland has red ones. They both utilize the same trailers. At least they did when I worked there in 2011.
-
There's some holland trailers and some GPT trailers, but I've seen both companies hauling each other's trailers. Dispatchers are at holland, but management here is at GPT. It's kind of an unusual set up but somehow it works. Basically the dispatchers are pretty good to work with but I've learned its best to ask whatever concerns or problems to the
GPT staff and they will try to work with you. Sometimes the dispatch over at holland gets really busy and they don't like being tied up on the phone. -
I got offers from both. Great Plains offered me quite a bit more cpm. I know Holland has satellite TV in their trucks.

Yeah sounds like a great company exactly what I'm looking for. Too bad I don't live in their hiring area. I live near Columbia sc. We have I 20 I 26 I77 running right thru here with I85 and I95 not far away. Seems like they could find something nearby to get me in/out of the house. Maybe they would make an exception?
-
Hmmmm... I passed through there on the way to southern Georgia, but that was on a broker load. Best I can say is give them a call, and if they won't hire out of your area, maybe see if holland will(owned by the same family), their hiring area is a bit more expanded, GPT is a bit of a smaller company, so they tend to stick towards certain customer's routes.
