the story is I went to a customer yesterday and I been going to them daily for the past week and two days this week. Everytime I delivered there I was told to do my connections and then sit in the truck until they let me know that everything is finished. Yesterday I found out the hard way that this isn't their policy. I do know that you're supposed to be within eyesight of your connections but being as though one of the company's employees told me to wait in the truck I thought that's what you're supposed to do. So while sitting in the truck I rest my head in my hand while waiting and the someone is standing there taking pictures of me. Next another guy says something to me and tells me I have to wait by my connection. Today I come to work and they tell me they have to let me go because the company don't want me hauling their product anymore.
what a day. Now I'm looking for work again in the chemical field just don't know which way to go.
need advice. was let go by allchemical today. don't know which way to go

What was your companies policy?
Unless it is completely no touch I have to be out of my truck monitoring.
You'll find something, seems like every tanker outfit around here is hiring.
Good luckcherrybone Thanks this. -
My company's policy was never really stated. I'm new there I just started in January. They keep a close eye on new guys because they have so many vets and owner operators there. One time I ran out of fuel and they suspended me for three days. Their equipment is old and ran down and in most trucks a lot of the gauges don't work. I made a judgment call on the fuel by looking at it and ran out of fuel while off loading. So I was basically on their hit list anyway. As for the policy I know I'm supposed to be there to monitor also but I went by what one of the employees told me which I thought was their policy. Now just have to keep looking. I have a family to take care of.

Dana/LTC has served me well for the last 11 years. Just my $0.02...

Maybe it was the laying your head down for a few.
When I was at QC we had a driver fall asleep while loading oil and over flowed out the dome 3-400 gallons all over the ground.
And he didn't lose his job, go figure.
They assigned to a different account. -
Yeah maybe. The crazy thing is what do they expect you to do when you're told to sit in the truck by one of the employees? And they claim that Brenntag don't want me hauling their product and that's why they had to let me go.

Sounds like they had you pegged to get rid of ya.
There will be some more suggestions on here, I'm sure. Trimac?
Doesn't sound like the kind of employer I'd be wanting to go back to. You could try a one on one with the boss - not the office staff - to explain your position.

Always and i mean always have a back up plan as in another company to go to or even two , never let the company you drive for have you by the balls . i am thinking of leaving this comapy i am leased to and have 3 waiting on my ok to go to. i been in trucking for 38 years all the company are the same ,your a number a piece of s h t to them and are replaceable on the spot.
These guys who run these company are bean counter not ruckers most would not be worthy to lick the sweat of my behind.
so no problem just do not become a number . You and your family first think of the comapny as a dog tur d you wipe off your shoesJust passing by and pathfinder1361 Thank this. -
That was definitely the case. I was even having issues about where I parked my personal vehicle. I do take some responsibility but I still don't understand what they expected me to do when I was told to sit in the truck? Not only that I do feel it's unprofessional to have a company taking pictures of me. I felt if their policy wasn't what I was lead to believe it was they could've just told me and left it at that. This is what also leads me to believe that my company was behind this also.

Oh - you said it right there. Personal vehicle parking issues = pedantic picky employer. Also 'Lots of vets and owner operators there'. I think they set you up.
Your only (doesn't matter now) better option would have been to call your boss and say "Hey - these guys want me to sit in the truck - shouldn't I be observing load/unload?" before the fact. Maybe something to take with you moving forward.
Interesting to see what they put on your DAC, if they use it at all.
