Well 8 days and a paltry 4993 miles:) Load was 4 hours late getting ready today but no big rush on my end so ok I suppose. Had to grab a loaner as a problem still exists that they didn't fix the last time and once again my APU is basically useless with the same old "low oil pressure" and "engine overheating" codes. Got a solid 2 hr use of it before it went to #### again.

Well one place to cross off my list to not deliver to again. Waited nearly 9 hours for them to finish unloading at the Meijers in Lansing, MI. I guess my fault for even picking to go to a grocery warehouse in the first place. Oh well live and learn.

After waiting all day to unload had my hours back and went to pick up a load in Grand Rapids which delivers in Pasadena, TX Friday morning so had to burn the overnight oil. Made it down to West Memphis and will finish up later today/night. Back to back weeks with over 4000 miles separated by one day of reset.

Well another turbo hose clamp bit the dirt on me today in the loaner. Fortunately I was just a few miles past Las Cruces so turned around and got another one and didn't cost me a lot of down time. Should be back home in Vegas tomorrow for a few days.

Just checking in to see if any of my issues with the new downgraded forum have been resolved. I posted a short reply yesterday, but it was quick enough not to have the auto save attempt to save it, so I don't know if it's fixed or not.

I too have been fairly productive...1st 6 1/2 days after leaving home I had turned just shy of 4000 miles...but then Memorial Day hit and things got out of sync for me. But still, in 23 1/2 days after leaving home I had just under 11k. However, that's all about to change. During the last 10 days, I had the misfortune of picking up in GP...which is getting to be the worst of all our plants when it comes to getting a load on time. In the last few months, I have had delays anywhere between 2 and 8 hours after the loads ready time, and not just on the weekend...on top of that my truck is taking a crap on me. I get between 1000 and 1200 miles between parked regens, and my Maxxfarce engine fan is acting weird. It functions fine when I 1st start the truck, but once I get it over 1200 rpm the 1st time, it locks in the 'always on' position and stays that way until I shut down. If it were a Cummins with the air powered fan clutch, I would say that is normal for a failing clutch, but these boat anchor motors have the electromagnetic multispeed fans that fail to turn when they go bad, or at least that is how they use to be...maybe the new fans were upgraded, I did have a fan replaced last fall..

I also had a repower of a backhaul that has me in MN. It was a load of crap...I mean scrap aluminum siding going to a processor across the river from UPN. The reason it was a repower was because the original driver rolled the truck and I had to run up and have the towing company unload it off of their flatbed (that they used to pick the mess up with) and load it on my trailer. But, by the time I found out my new appointment time to deliver, it was Friday afternoon, so I missed getting on Mondays UPN board early enough to get a Monday load. Fortunately, the driver wasn't seriously injured in the crash, just a cut arm and rattled nerves...but it looked to me that truck and trailer were scrap.

Plus I also had another brake chamber mount break...in my years before coming here, I had never had that happen, but since I started here, I have had 3...and not just on old trailers. The last one that I had fixed over the weekend was a 27## trailer.

Well, I can see the issues still exist for me having to edit because the autosave is still screwing with me...plus a new wrinkle. .if I am at the end of a line with a single letter (like I or a) it won't advance to the next line when I hit the space bar...as in "I will see" becomes 'Iwill see" on the next line...check that...the new issue with the line advance doesn't only happen with a 1 letter word, it just did it with a larger word...I say they scrap this system and find something else, before they lose a lot of users, I've seen a major slowdown in a lot of threads since the downgrade, so it's not just me having intolerable issues...even the 'buggy' software they were using had far less issues

Reason for edit: the new forum software sucks!

Well glad I took the route through the back roads to travel through Pierre, SD today. The last of the capitals of the lower 48 states that I haven't been to and probably the last time as I got a call from Headquarters today asking if I would like to fill a "local" position that has came open at PW. I had spoke to the guy that was planning on retiring a couple of weeks ago and put in my name that I would be interested in the job if they were going to hire someone else so it all worked out well.

From what I understand I will generally be running 2-3 trips to SLC a week along with tending to local loads, etc. So should be home 4-5 nights a week. Starting July 1 and going to see how it goes.

Congrats! Local fits better for some people. I know I like sleeping in my own bed at night. I just got news that I will be filling a position in Beaumont, TX for the same company I hauled crude for so my seniority carries over!

Best'o luck to ya. I for one am hitting the "don't give a flying flip" mode right now with Poly. I am sick of sitting and waiting everywhere. Sit in GP waiting on shipping, sitting empty waiting on backhaul well after the time of availability I send in, sitting waiting on the next call from Outbound, sitting waiting on the truck to go into the shop, sitting and waiting on the shop to fix it. And forget about calling anyone...I am sick of leaving endless numbers of voicemail messages then sitting and waiting for a call back. It was so frustrating in UPN today that I was actually online pricing one-way airplane tickets so I could just say F'it and fly home taking only what I could carry on, or ship in a checked bag. This place is almost as disorganized as Crete was when I left, and it all started down hill when Carl and John left.

I had a call from backhaul the other day repowering a load. They called 3.5 hours after my ready time. They gave me the previous drivers number so I could locate where the load was (he was repowering an Outbound load from yet another driver who broke down)before I could dial 10 digits, the same backhaul person called me back and said nevermind that load, we'll hunt you something else...45 minutes later, I get the 2nd load info, but by then my 14 was screwed, so I couldn't make the delivery until the next day...and had to fight thru Chicagoland during rush hour...

Well u think it u got it bad.
Picked up Tuesday night for Thursday am dlv in Effingham.
Wednesday after noon outbound called said they screwed up appt and it delivered on the 17th not the 11th. I'm already in Effingham. Was told to go in anyway was told no ystdy and today. They got me a appt for monday at 1230. So I will be in Effingham from the 10th and the earliest will leave is Monday at 1400. Then tried to blame me for it as supervisor asked why I took load that delivered on the 15th cause that's what computer says. I took a picture of of my cover sheet and sent it to him. It was like oh so it wasn't your fault. So I'm still stuck here 5 days

Effingham is a great town, there is the Nike store, TGIF's, the FireFly Grill, and the Trucker Bar beside the TA, where they'll be dozens of drivers this weekend bragging about How much better their job is, and how they're home every weekend.
