This is the difference between a guy that runs a business in trucking, and a truck driver with a truck payment. All you guys that say freight rates suck and you can't find good paying loads, take note of how a professional conducts business.

I bumped it up a notch further. I now have live tracking on my website available to my brokers and customers 24/7, they don't even have to make a phone call or wait for me to respond to a text or email. Just click and see for yourself where I'm at ! But of course they can still call, text, email with any questions or info I need to know. www.dannythetrucker.com
PSUMoose Thanks this. -
The thing that sucks sometimes is you'll be at the receiver already for a 7am delivery you got there at 230am and the phone will ring at 430am the broker asking you if you're going to make it on time..

that is when i have the ignore feature, cuz im prob asleep. eithe rthat i will be super sarcastic
S M D Thanks this. -
Gotta keep it professional even if you hate them. Good loads are good money and being nice for a couple of seconds while talking to them sometimes gets you more good loads
PSUMoose, BrokeringBad and Mr.X Thank this. -

Text and email is the least intrusive, a guy who doesnt have time to answer the phone sure doesnt need to be going through voicemails and doing callbacks.
GPS tells you where the truck is but doesnt tell you if its sitting on blocks in a shop!
I have drove my own truck and drove for companies and always prefered to set my own ETA and comunicate directly with the Broker/Customer. 99.9% of drivers will let you know right away if there are problems/delays, sometimes not the case when your dealing with a dispatcher.PSUMoose Thanks this. -

Process I use is to text my guy my location looking for a load. He responds that he will start looking and call soon with offers. We text and call interchangeably til I get loaded then I take a picture of the BoL and email it to him and txt him I'm up on the road. He does check on me a couple times a day til I get to the final at which time I txt him that I have arrived. Soon as I'm empty I send a pic of the signed BoL via email again.
Not too much inconvienence or effort on my part but it goes a long ways toward him using me in the future, maybe remembering my truck and calling me first for that great paying load. -
