I understand it's once a week. Which day?

Easy, Call your dispatcher and ask, or better yet ask payroll.
Unless your not the driver and then you have no reason to be bothering them...

I'm a budgeter. My budget is all out of whack due to unemployment and a future training period. I have my drug test next Thursday morning. After that, I expect to be very busy for about 5 weeks with training and orientation. Just trying to straighten my budget out and make sure I'll be able to pay the rent again when it comes due for September. Yes it will my paycheck and not someone elses. I simply didn't want to bother my recruiter with a quick question. Of course I don't have a dispatcher yet.

Usually three weeks after you start driving .. Most companys pay on the 15 & 30 . Some company's will give a weekly advance of a 100 or 200.

If the company pays weekly then the second week of work on a Friday is the most common.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! I am used to being paid every 2 weeks for the past 4 years, though I much prefer being paid every week.

Plan on waiting for your first check, however you can get advances, figure about $75/week, depends on your company. Every co has a "cut-off" day, the day paperwork has to be in for their payroll disbursement. Generally, it's a week apart. So, paperwork in this Fri means you get a check next Fri. Opt for direct deposit if avail, a paper check bouncing around the US mail could get lost.

I am a total computer geek, so I always get direct deposit. I also ran into some extra money and also found out that my first paycheck will be one week earlier than I had expected. So, all in all, everything is looking very, very good.

You will be paid $50 or $75 cash at the end of your 1-week orientation. There may have been additional pay on the first check, I can't remember... If you are tight on cash, you can also get a cash advance on your comdata card as soon as you are dispatched.

If you get a truck and a load that Friday (orientation ends Thursday), you will be paid for that load the following Friday (because Con-way records pay at the date of dispatch, not when you scan paperwork as other companies do).

Come to orientation with a voided check to set up direct deposit. Direct deposit hit my bank Thursday morning, not Friday, but some banks hold the funds for the day.
