If you truly are saying you are short 2 mins every day of making your run, God bless you, because I would never want to try and cut my day that close.

If you emptied out at the receiver why not just go PC for that 1.5 miles?

Question 26: If a driver is permitted to use a Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) for personal reasons, how must the driving time be recorded?

Guidance: “When a driver is relieved from work and all responsibility for performing work, time spent traveling from a driver’s home to his/her terminal (normal work reporting location), or from a driver’s terminal to his/her home, may be considered off-duty time.

The type of conveyance used from the terminal to the driver’s home, from the driver’s home to the terminal, or to restaurants in the vicinity of en route lodgings would not alter the situation unless the vehicle is laden.

A driver may not operate a laden CMV as a personal conveyance. The driver who uses a motor carrier’s Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) for transportation home, and is subsequently called by the employing carrier and is then dispatched from home, would be on-duty from the time the driver leaves home.

A driver placed out of service for exceeding the requirements of the hours of service regulations may not drive a Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) to any location to obtain rest.”

There is so much wrong information and misconception in this thread.

    That the ticket was correct.

Thats just what I remember. If I went through the thread again theres a lot of other things.

So few drivers actually know the law/their rights.

Last time when pulled into scales, the officer was standing next to the parking spot she wanted me in. She asked me to bring in all my docs and paperwork except my logbook which she wanted immediately right there.

All my trucking career we were taught that driving through midnight does not require immediately pulling over to close out yesterday, just do it when you naturally pull over the first time.

I've even driven through spring/forward fall/back at 2AM when everyone is pulled over for an hour lol.

LOL, I was driving late one night and ran into one of those spring ahead fall back time changes, only problem was I was in either Az, or Northern Indiana, one of those places that doesn't change.

I think it took me a hour to figure out what time it was when I stopped!

Home terminal time. Unless your home terminal is in one of those places, actually AZ now since IN is either on Central or Eastern and does observe DST.

Not all of the enforcement officers give E-log users a break, either. I haven't had trouble on paper. Supporting documents do help. But I wasn't even asked for those in IL,while the Badger was really interested. I get more guff about my voice until they realize I'm not being nasty with them. Takes a good 45 minutes for a clean inspection by the time you find everything they want, and then put it away and e-logs probably won't help that.

By all means, have the instruction card and the paper backup because those are easy tickets.

LOL, exactly, it was late, I was tired, kinda in zombie mode when I parked, I think I finally said the hell with it and figured it out the next day.

As far as Home terminal, I realize that, but going off my cell phone I was trying to "back" into my home time, but not knowing if they already corrected the time on the cell phone or not, and then trying to figure if where I was, was one hour behind (ahead) or the same.

I guess you had to be there!

You cannot "just go PC" from your last drop to anywhere!

As is says in the interpretation you quoted, PC is ONLY for -
    - COMMUTING back and forth from home to the "normal work reporting location"
    - short trips from enroute LODGINGS

That is it! PC applies in ONLY those two situations. NOT deadheading from the last drop. You come in here trying that and you will be here for 10 hours with a receipt for your efforts.
