Long story short i rear ended a vehicle last week when they slammed on their brakes when a deer ran across the road. I didnt get ticketed only a warning. Still in school for my cdl. Is my career over before it even began?

Did you or the other vehicle actually hit the deer? And did you get pics of the deer damage? That may help if you did. Many companies are gonna say you where following too close or you'd have had time to stop. If you didnt get a ticket, it may not even be on your mvr. Find out what's on your MVR when you start applying for companies. Then just be honest. Someone will give you a chance if you are honest, and persistant.
Bubba15, Chinatown and taxihacker66 Thank this. -
Yeah what he said. You're a student. Be honest and up front. These companies know how much pressure new drivers are under. I personally wouldn't worry about it.
Bubba15 Thanks this. -

No, your career isn't over. May limit the choices, but several companies will hire you.
Bubba15 Thanks this. -
Plus you technically don't have a cdl yet.

Didn't we just cover this like 2 days ago?

Yes, that is true. Trucking companies have a hard time insuring drivers that rearended other vehicles and it doesn't matter you were driving a truck or car.
Put Carolina Cargo on you list. They probably will hire you. Pay is a little low for truckers, but will make a little over $800.00 weekly. This includes milage, fuel bonus, on-time delivery/pickup, etc. All this is easily achievable from what their drivers have posted. They run hard and legal East Coast to West Coast back to back. Lots of different freight but mostly frozen chickens to West Coast and produce back to East Coast. Don't fret over it; just put that CDL to work ASAP after graduation. They may give you a pre-hire right now. -
what was the instructor doing while you were following too close...no need for an answer, just a rhetorical question
