They have new trucks with and without the APU'S. I don't know if this is a product that they are testing or not. I do know that they expect you to have a main engine idle time of less than 5%. This literally means when you aren't driving, then you should turn the truck off. Leaving it running while opening your doors or sliding your tandems raises your idle times quicker than you would think.
I'll keep you posted when I find out more about APU in new trucks.

it's 25% LOL (typo maybe) i've had (in my first truck) up to 60% and didn't get #####ed at had one fuel review around then and explained my ICON wasn't working right, no big deal.

panhandle is right, it's 25% or less idling time. APUs are being installed on all the ProStars first as a test to gauge fuel savings, then eventually be installed on every new truck USA purchases. They will not be installed on the 9400i trucks, seeing as they'll be run out within a couple years anyways.
And no offense Enigma, you're lucky to get the ProStar. Those should be going to the driver's who have put in at least a year there. Getting a new truck within your first 6 months with USA isn't all that fair, so I would just keep that information to yourself at terminals, unless you wanna serisouly piss off some other drivers. But hey, if I got one after 6 months in, I guess I would be happy too.
Drachen, you don't get squat with the truck unless you get a cool trainer who will buy the basics for you. otherwise, fuel up at only Pilots for the double points, and stock up your truck on those points. May take a few months, but you won't have to pay out of pocket. -
ya got that right!! they were at first giving senior drivers the prostars, but i guess the logistics in it were killing them. now it is the luck of the draw.
unless you are upgrading from solo to trainer GRRRRRRRR got 9966 with 370K on it!!

A new truck means you stay out 6 months instead of 3

Nope. It is 5(five)% in the trucks with an apu. It was 25% in my old truck.
I don't know why they gave me a new truck. I didn't argue the fact. I agree that they should go to the senior employees first. -
OOOHHHHHHHH. NOW I GOT IT!!

I saw an 07 9400i decked out with an automatic trans, b/i inverters and an APU. It was at the Bethel terminal. I met the driver that it was assigned to. It may have been a one time deal, but I seem to remember seeing other 9400is with the APU. But they were all the newer one thousand series 9400s.

a few of the newest 9400's have apu's truck no's 1200, 1500 etc, they also have the aluminum rims
