I say give up...some have it, some don't. Not everyone with a "dream" gets to live that dream. 1, 2, 3 strikes you're out...there are other jobs out there.

 

It's not rocket science , if you can't do it move on, not everybody is cut out to do it. Instead of raising false hopes how about a dose of reality.

6500 for the crst school oh my. I think for 3-4 weeks while there you should have your own private room with room service IMO. That seems expensive

 

Lol he was probably expecting a corporate jet and dinner at a fancy restaurant..... If he thinks the food was bad at his training, he should be lucky they didn't serve airline food.

 

True. Not necessarily 'room service'...but for $6,500.00 I think a room of your own with the same amenities as a hotel room shouldn't be out of the question. If I paid that kind of coin, I wouldn't expect to wait on a shower or toilet down the hall.
Unfortunately, there are a lot of people hard up enough to put up with it...therefore it exists.

Not only that; but a lot of these "non-English" speaking students make the hour ride each way on a school bus to and from Cedar Rapids (Kirkwood) to Waterloo (Hawkeye) where CRST (and the Government) have training set up for the overflow.

Who is REALLY paying for this? CRST is one of the largest (if not THE largest) "green card" sponsors in the industry.

 

For some it takes over a yr to finally find the right fit.You know as well as I do this field has the highest turnover rate.Just because this is his third company doesn't mean he can't do it.Look at crengland,ppl quit left and right while attending their school and find greener pastures elsewhere.

 

This may sound harsh and not directly to the op but everybody can't be truck drivers just everyone can't be a teacher, doctor, lawyer..etc it seems like this is the only profession where everyone think they can drive a semi truck. Js

 

Because they cannot learn how to drive. It is scary that companies will put an inexperienced driver with a student and wonder why their wrecker bills and body shop bills and insurance premiums are so high. Not everybody is a truck driver.
