For a company driver I would pretty much recommend getting into tanker work. There is several different avenues you could go with as far as road or local and what type. All in all I've always felt it offers about the best quality of life that could be had in this line of work with the least hastles and good pay. My second choice would be car hauling if you live in an area that is active.

Reefer, dry van, flatbed can all be good depending on the company and where you live.
Lone Star Transportation
Holland Enterprises Inc.
Danny Herman Trucking
Abilene Motor Express
Tribe Transportation
Put your location on your profile so we know the hiring area you live in. -
Dry van. It is the path of least resistance. Reefers are usually loaded pretty heavy and you have to know how to load a heavy load to get your axle weights right. Flatbed would require you to get dirty and know how to load, plus those flatbed guys are weird and sadistic and get excited about bondage stuff like chains and straps.

Strange ducks those skateboard pullers are.... No one likes a reefer driver either.... Especially when you pull in to a t/s at 0200 and have a live load on.... You might as well have pooped your pants, because you'll get the stink eye every so often....
