I think its the big companies like suntec or suncoast or somethink got all the freight direct from the shipper for dicent rate. and all the extra goes to ITS for as little as possible.

last month I got a letter from dmv that now cdl holders have to prove legal residensy to renew cdl. so maybe that will help with rates.

Totally agree... We have so many slave like individuals in the industry, it's sad. I will never get over the fact, we run the world and could shut it down completely, yet, most continue to take the bs...

I live in Florida and have seen the rates plummet in the past year to ridiculously low levels. We have been getting quotes for as low as 90 cents per mile, 48,000 lbs that require tarps. My wife may spend an entire day trying to find a load out of Florida that pays at least $1.60 per mile. Last summer we were easily getting $2 per mile. But we are seeing extremely low rates all across the nation.

Unfortunately when the spot market started to slip last fall, many small and medium fleets went to contract freight, which is good for them. But as a one truck owner operator, I can't do contract freight and have to stick with the spot market. The big picture is that our economy isn't growing, and was really at a negative growth in the second quarter of this year. Many of the big fleets have quit screaming of driver shortage and turn over had dropped to 85%. Right now there seems to be a lot more trucks than freight.
I expect that since the Chinese market has collapsed, Europe and the US aren't far behind. China and Russia have both been shedding their US Treasury notes by the billions, with Putin poised to outlaw US dollars and Treasury notes from the Russian Commonwealth of Nations. What this means is that our enemies are waging and economic war against us that could mean the dollar is soon to be dropped as the world's reserve currency. This could lead to a depression worse than the Great Depression of the 1930's.

As long as the world still has to buy US dollars before buying a barrel of oil, there might be some hope. Keep using that military to keep it that way ...

We have similar deals in Canada. Its the "new" Canadians. Not Americans moving up here, other people. I'm not being racist at all, it's the truth. They take loads at a quarter of the rates anyone else could even blink at. Now, however, things are turning around. A lot of the brokers and shipper will not use them, and the the rest are going bankrupt. I know some aren't like that and are trying to help the industry but the facts are the facts. I'm sure the megas arent doijg any favours either.

Probably not. I was at a shipper a couple of weeks ago that required a valid, scannable CDL to get loaded. Driver came in with a CDL that had been expired for a YEAR. He'd been running expired for a year before someone called him on it. He didn't get loaded, and he just left and got another load somewhere else.
