Because it "thinks" you already has the Maps the Dock will not show maps available. And since you don't have the maps we have to "trick" the Dock into thinking you have a 720 connected.

I will be available after 8pm EST if you wish me to remote into your computer and do what is needed for the Dock to see the 720 and push the maps again.

Make sure the SD card is formatted FAT 32 also.

    Thanks,
    Mark

So I did open it up and pushed the pins on the micro usb slot to make the connection tight, this did not help. I used a needle to push the last pin on the right up. Lookin at the rear of the unit. I now have a solid connection to my DC cable. We will see how long this lasts. I run the 12 volt cable in my truck on my dash but will also tie it around the mount as well.

    Thanks,
    mehow

I am talking about the USB shell. On the flat part lightly squeeze it.

    Thanks,

I am available now if you wish to PM me. I use TeamViewer, so I would need you to PM me the ID/PW for the remote log in.

    Thanks,
    Mark

    Hey Mark,

Any word on the issues I posted about August 28? I know you were out and about so no big deal. Got a couple more questions to go with it.

Noticing that my unit likes to randomly jump back in GPS position, sometimes half a state back for a split second, calculate from that position, then it returns to my current position, recalculates, and carries on. Sometimes at random it will just recalculate like its lost the plot a moment. Happens a couple times a day.

Also, the map updates for the others, is the tablet already on those maps or is there one coming for it too?

Rand McNally has released a construction file to the Dock to reflect the reopening of the northbound I-65 bridge between Lebanon and Lafayette, Indiana. The bridge had previously been closed since August 7th due to structural issues.

To get the construction update on your GPS device, you must connect to the Rand McNally Dock. To update tablets, connect to Wi-Fi. As a reminder, connect your GPS device to the Dock once a month to receive ongoing construction information provided by Rand McNally.

Do you have a Dash Cam around the TND?

I have not heard about the update for the Tablet yet. I will ask.

    Thanks,
    mark

Google "JerkStopper" for aid in cord protection.

FYI - I had a customer with a 720 and a 730 both in his truck come in on Friday. I emailed you about this guy earlier in the week if you remember. I was asking you if you knew of any government outages in whatever state he was in that day. Anyway, both GPS's showed "No GPS" and in the GPS screen showed "0 seen of 11."

I took them out of the truck and they both found the signal. So I started unplugging things in his truck and it turned out to be the CB. And the real hitch with that was that it didn't help to just turn the CB off. I had to physically unplug the power connector from the back of it.

tsavory and Mark Kling Thank this.
