thanks. having my weekends was important to me. but being home almost every night, was a bonus. this came at the right time because I was supposed to leave out tuesday afternoon of next week.
I wasn't too keen on having to go back over the road, or run as a team AND not having my weekends off. I was pretty open to learning the in's and out's of running doubles, but I am not going to to lose any sleep over not doing it.
but things work out how they're supposed to. I'm just thankful to have a job at this point, considering all I have been through. -
the flatbed job didn't work out too well. just wasn't for me.
Started with a FedEx contractor about 6 weeks ago. so far so good. pay is excellent. $1100-$1300 a week, paid every Friday. getting about 4300-4900 miles a week (as a team) depending on the route with some smart post and home delivery stops thrown in for extra money. There were 4 different routes. Denver to St. Peters, MO, Chicago, IL, Phoenix, AZ, Amarillo, TX and back.
I am starting a new solo dedicated route on Tuesday. Denver to Wamsutter, WY and back. the cpm drops a little bit but the mileage goes up, so there isnt much difference in pay. It's 2830 miles per week, and $1160 salary per week. Can't complain. Plus i get Saturday afternoons through Monday nights off so now I can go to Sunday and Monday football games.Lonesome Thanks this. -

nope. My taxes get taken out and I get a w-2 at the end of the year. I am an employee of the contractor.

Denver to Wamsutter, WY is quite the gravy run... till winter comes. lol. Stay safe out there this winter.

Congrats on your new job. We hired on with a great contractor 3 months ago, and we love fedex. It suits our needs, and we get to be home 3 days every week! We got tired of being on the road for weeks at a time, missed home.
We run out of Chattanooga, to Rialto, then back to Atlanta every week.X-Country Thanks this. -
Any updates X-country? I'll be starting with a contractor next week running team otr.
X-Country Thanks this. -
so far so good! no complaints at all. my solo dedicated route is awesome. truck is older than dirt but she will run circles around any of the pos' in Werners fleet. easiest $1160 A week I have ever made in my life. plus my truck is getting pneumatic chains.

well let's see some people's math are off a bit 5000x50=2500/2=1250 so each driver will make $1250 please learn the math basics before replying some bad math
