I was never a fan of quality (yet never against anyone getting a truck from them). I was curious when Mercer started letting them on board. It's probably the best thing for everyone that mercer stops and takes a breath and rethinks the use of quality trucks in the future. Lots of people on here are against LP all together. I am not. But I have seen more people fail at LP then I have seen succeed.
This is just a general statement. I have stated that LP can be a good tool for many. But many mistake it for being an out right OO and don't understand that you are really working for someone else still (quality in this case).
I feel bad for everyone that was on the list and now is out in the cold. But for Mercer as a company I feel it was the right move for now.
Of course I'll let anyone match what I'm getting for a trade in on this truck. Brand new drives, breaks, drums, shocks, airbags. LOL. Oh and just passed both Mercer annual and DOT roadside inspec.
Really tho, sorry folks and I hope you all find a way.

Don't be too happy. A few of our better customers won't do business with a carrier unless they have a certain number of trucks(capacity). There will always be huge attrition in trucking, it's the nature of things. If we don't keep adding to keep our numbers above a certain threshold, you can say bye bye to those customers. Can't speak for you, but I love those gravy Boeing and Ge engine loads.

I always figured they started taking quality trucks to get Cali emissions trucks in the system. Because a lot of their old true owner ops would not buy them. Last year they were offering 3000 dollar sign on bonus for California compliant trucks.

I will have to weigh my options. I have a truck, but it's a lease truck through Schneider finance. The only reason I was considering Quality, was to lower my payment and get through the learning curve. They will let me take my truck there if I choose to. It's a 2016 T680 with a higher payment than Quality, but only a 3 year term with the same buyout at the end as Quality. Kinda wish I kept my shaker that I had with them lol..As Cjnda said though, the lower costs of insurance and with Mercer paying the fuel tax may offset the costs. I pay anywhere from $90-$175 a month in fuel tax, depending on where I fuel.

I was going to go backward with Quality. A 2012 Cascadia

That may be true spyder, but the way the addition of those numbers occurred was dead on arrival. You can't falsely build your total numbers you actually need a foundation of recruiting solid owners.whoopNride Thanks this.

Joseph, I agree that you need quality people. But unfortunately, our society doesn't create to many of those any more.
