But first they have to have a reason to open up your doors. Just dont give them a reason. Had some donkey DOT officer up in Canada once try to get me to open a USDA sealed meat load, told him if he wants it open he has to cut the seal. Told him straight up the only people who can legally open those door are customs, a USDA, or Canada Food inspector or the reciever, anyone else it is a felony.

On the occasion I have had some type of LEO break the seal to check--None of them have EVER had a problem w/resealing my wagon...and documenting on my BOL the inspection..including printing their names/badge numbers etc...and in the case of DOT guys breaking them(among others)have always provided a STATE seal of some sort to replace original--if not I use a co seal and they document #s--
and btw--this also included the possibly dumbest deputy in the state of Indiana--if not the world--who pulled me over--callin a haz-mat team in the process--due to the "Gren Fluid"(his words)oozing outta my wagon--told him I had fresh spinach Iced down--and it was the ice melting...tried to warn him and show him HOW to properly open the doorss--so he wouldnt get soaked--told me to stay back--HE KNOWS what he's doin...hard not to bust out laughin as his clean dry uniform got washed...LMAOgentleroger, 201, Toomanybikes and 2 others Thank this. -
The best results to secure paper rolls is to have the floor of the trailer really clean. Most places are required to place the rubber mats under the rolls for grip and protection. If the floor is dusty/dirty.....those mats are totally useless. The rolls will slide with less than hard braking. Using load locks for paper rolls is like holding back a landslide with a toothpick.

The weight cop that lives down the street from me says he laughs every time a trucker tells him he cannot break the seal. He says if you were not getting one a level 1 before you state that, you definitely will after.
The seal is only to prevent and prove to the shipper and receiver that the driver has not tampered with the load;It means nothing t the DOT or any other law enforcement official. -
‘Olhand Thanks this.

One other thing, if you are going to use Load Locks, the only way they'll be of any worth is if you augment them with straps. If you situate them properly in conjunction to one another, and crank the straps down accordingly, without completely distorting the walls on the trailer, the locks should do their job.
Disclaimer - anything at highway speed, on the Cross Bronx will shift. -
I have also moved shipments of army stuff seal cannot be removed for any reason until it reaches where it is going. -
