Hi, I’m a reporter with The Wall Street Journal, and I’m working on a story about trucker pay. I’m looking to speak with drivers about how easy (or hard) it is to make a living, and whether trucking companies are changing how they recruit as the driver shortage has gotten worse. I’m hoping to hear many different points of view, so if you’d be interested in sharing your experience, please email me at [email protected].
Thanks,
Brian

Maybe you could email an admin here from your work email to verify that you are who you claim?
-
Good idea. What's the best way to do that?
-
I subscribe to the WSJ, so I'll definetly send you an email.

There is no such thing as a "driver shortage"
There is however a driver pay shortagedrvrtech77, Longarm and Canned Spam Thank this. -
Well I sent an email to the email account that you posted. This based on my belief that the wsj.com would actually be the wall street journals web mail address.
I can at least post if I get a reply back from that adress and also flag this post and ask a mod or admin to verify when they check in. -
Hey look a journalist/reporter without a gmail or yahoo account...wow this must be big time!
G.Anthony and Smooth_Operator Thank this. -
In short: Trucking pay has declined over the last 20 years.....period!
We work more for less money than about any industry out there.
I made more money 20 years ago when this was still a professional line of work and not over run with thousands of CDL school graduates...And all the mega carriers running freight rates in the ground.Dye Guardian and Canned Spam Thank this. -
Yeh, please understand if you are legit, that there have been people in the past posing as people they arent. So we are usually suspicious.
If you are legit, well, expect an earfull.
