Use to do a lot of drop/hook loads to Wally that could only deliver on a specific date. If you were early, it was $500 per day. I think it was Wally getting back at companies that were charging them for not unloading their drop trailers for an extended time so they didn't have to count it on inventory
####ing EARLY FEE????

How did you get there early if you did the LD? Wait...that's a dispatcher question that they normally ask before saying, "Nevermind, I don't want to know."
You sir, are a force of nature. I salute you.Leon Phelps III Thanks this. -
There are worse places to be stuck a day or so than Dysart's. Decent restaurant, too.
NavigatorWife and catalinaflyer Thank this. -
Dysart's truck stop as far as I know is one of the last "real" truck stop's. I always enjoyed stopping there, grabbing a seat at the community table and just listening to the old hands and the depth of wisdom there.NavigatorWife Thanks this.

After reading this thread, I'm so glad I made the decision to go back to coal and rock hauling. Pull up to the quarry or mine, run up on the scale for a light weight (if they don't store it), go in and get loaded, come back out, weigh, get paperwork, and roll.
Get to the "receiver", find out where to dump, unload, get paperwork signed, and roll on to the next one.Leon Phelps III Thanks this. -
Stick Haulin'.... and I mean REAL stick haulun' , is a lost art. Stick haulers are a dying breed. Not many of us left. We're dinosaurs. Giddem!Leon Phelps III Thanks this.
