Mine won't always latch open when trying to drop a trailer in cold weather. Tried about every lube on the planet, including dry graphite spray.

I've done that a couple of times.

So if the coolant reservoir ran empty, is it possible air got in the system? Its a 99 sterling with a cat, not sure on size. Propane bobtail. Never ran hotter than normal, about 190 195. It does have a coolant overflow tube out of the reservoir that drains on the ground. It was empty after driving but I refilled the reservoir

Similar situation happened to me at Toro in El Paso. They loaded the load on one of their El Paso/Juarez shuttle trailers and I took that pos all the way to Atlanta. It was an old Schneider trailer from the mid nineties. They usually loaded the trailer I dropped off so I assumed this was a change of plans above my head so I hooked up and rolled. They tried to blame the guard but the numbers on the bills all matched. It was shipping's fault. Was glad to bring that heap back. Glad I didn't get a dot inspection.

Forgot to latch hood. Forgot the the oil cap. It was still sitting where I put it two days later, and barely any oil got anywhere, this was a prostar with cummins. Forgot to tighten the fuel cap. Forgot my padlock(swift) on the IC bumper that I had dropped 5 miles away. The hood was funny as it slowly started to creep open when I came to a hard stop. Recently forgot the fuel cap because some tramp was asking for money while I was fueling.
QuietStorm Thanks this. -
Any opinions? Basically trying to fix my screw up and kinda not let my boss know

Fill up the tank and go buy a new cap at a dealer.

Good part is the cap was still sitting inside on top of the firewall where I left it lol

Cool deal. Don't worry about it. I ran from El Paso to Los Angeles a missing coolant cap. Shop guys left it off and I discovered it during my post trip. Shop manager said just stop by a Volvo shop and get a new one, turn in the receipt.
chrism1367 Thanks this. -
I just had to run back to the truck to get the VIN. Volvo used two different coolant tank styles in 2011 so they wanted to make sure I got the correct one. Was there ten minutes lol.
