Am I actually the only person who doesn't care if someone parks beside me at the TRUCK STOP? There will more than likely be someone there by nightfall anyway, what difference does it make if someone parks there now, or later?
As far as "strategic" parking, the only time I plan my parking spaces is in really sketchy truckstops when we are loaded with stuff like tires that someone might open the trailer and steal. I usually try to back up tight against a fence or close enough to another truck's rear end that my doors wont open.
Puzzled about this. (youtube video)

That's the Petro in Reno...Pretty obvious the Swift driver put that on you tube because he was crying thinking the red truck was being rude and stealing his spot... The driver that posted that on youtube should have pulled through a spot also....
Never understood if swift has a Terminal right next door why do they all need to park at the Petro? -
Swift trucks do the same thing at the pilot in Stanfield the whole back lot is full of swift trailers and trucks

WHAT !!!
C'mon, every one of you guys know this dood!! Every single one of you!!
He's the one who always takes the urinal next to you when theres a bunch of them open
Constantly peeking at your pee pee since like 3rd grade he's still trying now -
If you are a Swift driver with an empty trailer, never ever never enter the terminal with it because they wil make you drop it then you will have to play 3 county empty trailer goose chase before your next load.SISYPHUS Thanks this.

what i underlined.
it is not that truckers want to park closer to be your friend, it is pretty much used as a guide to be straight when parking. if one is to (say) park in an open space, it is somewhat harder to make sure, it is parked properly between the lines. as you have no guide like another parked truck/trailer for you to line up with.
also, the same can be said, when docking. many times, i have been told by the customer, "take any door that is open". so when i do, i try to back in next to another truck, (or even the trash container) as it is easier to see the trailer already in the dock, then to be constantly taking pull ups to be straight. once in the dock area, if i need a pull up or two, to be as near straight as possible, then of course i will do so.
so basically, it is to ensure being straight in the parking spot.ncmickey, SISYPHUS and scottied67 Thank this. -
^^^^LOL !!!
training wheels?
Ive found using other trailers to dock sux nutz...unless you get out and go verify they are touching on two sides...they'll mess you up more often and you'll be getting out and back in 17 times cause you got a foot gap on one side at a place with no dock plate etc etc -
I understand the lining up thing when there are no lines on the ground. What I do is line up next to the parked truck but at least 12 feet over, not right next to the guy-- that's homo truxual.

Swift driver maybe to practice backing?

That's fine but go do it at the Swift Terminal next door that way when you tear something up its something that belongs to swift
