Regardless of IF it was a diesel spill in the lot or not.... about 5mph in a parking lot is TOPS for safety and courtesy.
All of that would have been avoided , diesel fuel or not.

People flying in parking lots is one of my biggest peeves. Not just trucks at truck stops , either. People in 4 wheelers at Walmart and other such Hell holes are even worse. I'll step dead in front of them and dare 'em to say something.

    SLOW DOWN

That's why you don't use your engine brakes on wet roads. The drives can momentarily lock up and cause you to go into an uncontrolled skid.

And why you balance your load (or go slightly drive heavy.) If that load was up where it belonged this wouldn't have happened. Yes, it looks like a partial, first drop should have been on the rear.

There is nothing good that can happen from being overly tail-heavy, it moves all the dynamics towards instability.

These spreads are evil. They make it too easy just to lump everything on the back, which isn't going to help a noob when the conditions are less than favorable.

This was the worst case, with all the weight on the 'spread' it now has a mind of it's own: it's very stable going straight.

experience would have told ya to give it a little fuel and pull the trolly valve to get straight. but instead he panicked and flat footed the brake pedal. plus with all the weight on the trailer axles it was the boss instead of the truck.
