Ridiculous rates

By who?

 

This is my answer, TMC. Its a part of CHR. Thoses brand New trucks have 44 cent per mile driver's.

 

Dude I'm so pissed off. You have no clue. This was the run that was the "home run". Direct shipper. Used to pay 5 a mile.. We lowered it to 2.80 a mile.. Ch Robinson comes in and takes it for 2.20 a mile. Then has audicity to call our trucks for that load. Man, I hope I never meet a CHR agent or broker at a bar cause he will wish a train ran over his body once ok through with him. ####ing piece of ####s!

 

1.35 per mile for 46k lbs 6ft going 400 miles is what I saw on our board. Then we have ltl going for 1.50 per mile no tarp. These drivers taking these garbage loads off the board is killing us plain and simple.

 

I've called a few shippers even one's I've had shipped from before and asked about there out going loads. Well it seems as if they don't really even want to talk to you if your not a broker. Its as if the broker's are the tool to use to shop for cheep freight, and OO are not their friend.

I hate to say it, but $4.00 a gallon fuel and surcharges was better paying freight.

 

Not sure, what I have to do is call an agent at my company who looks on load boards then he calls me back with this cheap load Denver CO to somewhere in Florida. I know Denver is cheap outbound but Florida is supposed to pay well inbound, was expecting some kind of middle ground. Now I decided to deadhead 1200 miles - long story.

 

The balls on these smart mouth kids working the phones at CHR, ECHO ect...I swear if you have facebook or instagram your qualified to work for them. I drive, do accounting, book loads, maintain my company authority and my own mechanic. And they talk down to you like "oh wow" "your priced out of the market" "what took you so long" ect... We ***** come try to do what I do for one day and see if its worth 80cpm. You look at google maps, i'm in the real world. Take those maps and shove them.

 

everyone is hauling it because everytime i call and reject the load its off the board in a matter of minutes.. the broker told me freight is going fast and cheap.

 

The only good thing about that is the guys who are hauling it cheap will have no money to fix their truck when not if it breaks down next week/month/quarter and we can get back to decent rates.

 

I used to say it was too low too....now I don't say that...I quote my price. They can say no to me. I let them know they can call me if they change their minds. I've had 6 or 7 take my rate right away. Give it a try just in case.
