I'm 22 and currently pull doubled at FedEx. But talking to some guys at a truck stop sounds like they make decent money pulling freight with there dually.
I'm interested in getting a good size goose neck trailer and pulling cars with with my ford f250 dually. I do have a 40ft enclosed trailer we used for our race cars.
What the whole process to start hauling your own stuff. I'm always trying to figure out how I can make more money. I'm making around 1200 a week right now. But want more just how I am lol. So any help and all advice will be greatly appreciated.

You went from Navajo to FedEx between May and September - ?
Is that Ground or Freight?
If it's freight, I'm thinking you'll be better off withh the steady 1200 (is that gross or net?) per week.
Are you thinking about getting your own authority or leasing on somewhere?Just Rite Hauling Thanks this. -
Stay where you are.
BTW, how old is your F250 if its a daully? IIRC they quit making those in the 80s. -
I make any where from 1000 to 1200 after taxes team driving with fed ex ground. The dually I have is a 04 f250 lariat with 200k miles drives and runs amazing use it to haul our race car.
I'm wondering what does it take to get your own "business" going. Is there money to be made? I no the company and contractor with fed ex is a great gig but I'm always trying to figure out more ways to make money and make my self happier -
6.0 is a bad business choice, especially with 200k on it. You would need a more reliable truck. As far as more money, probably not gonna see with a hot shot setup. -
I think what you're looking to do is high risk, low reward. Yes, there is money to be made, but more importantly there is money to be lost. It may seem like a lot of money, but when you add the expenses that you don't have now, you're better off where you are. You don't pay for fuel, maintenance, you have health insurance and probably some sort of retirement fund. When you truck breaks down, you drive another truck while someone else pays for it, rather than paying for it while your not making money.
While you're doing good, I'd start saving up for a rig more suited to what you want to do. An F250 with 200K on it will not last much longer with the abuse of hauling cars everyday before you have some big repair bills. -
You won't be able to get insurance. If you do, it will only be with Progressive and cost up to $20,000 especially hauling cars.
Don't even start asking questions about getting your own authority until you find out if anyone will insure you! This stops most people dead in their tracks! -
I am currently working making about 45,000 a year. I just received my CDL in the state of Delaware. My goal by the end of this year to Finance a 20K Freightliner and a 3-4 car trailer. Or finance a Dodge 3500 dually and 3-4 car trailer.
I have researched insurance and right now I'm looking at about 650-800 per month.
So, my question is how do I load my truck? I want to haul for the DE,PA,DC,VA,NC,SC ports/insurance/used cars.
I have been on central dispatch and they seem to keep a large amount of cars.
All opinions and answers are excepted.

PS. I will keep my full time job, for the benefits and retirement plan. Only until it will not work for me anymore. -
How did you get 800 insurance cost? Is it umbrella coverage? Cargo and your truck?
-
take your time. Work for someone that will hire you with the limited experience. after a couple of years see how you feel. a car hauler can make 100k or more working for someone else. if that's not enough then try your own thing then.
