I just got signed up to go to Chicago for an orientation in December for the Intermodal position in Chambersburg PA. I will be doing the regional work and to be honest it sounds fantastic. On the road Mon-Friday and have 3 consecutive nights off plus a whole slew of other incentives. If there is truth to what you said PowerPullin, sounds like I made a good decision. I have little experience with only 3 months under my belt, but I'm willing to work hard to support my family.

I'll be sure to update this thread to keep you guys informed of my experience.

Does everyone that wants to run intermodal have to go to Chicago? I am looking at a home daily position.

@RERM and I work for a company out of South Holland, IL. We net about $2,200 to $3,000 after everything. Yeah, it is manageable but with the correct company!

    RERM Thanks this.

Definitely possible. The thing to remember just like any other trucking operation is that there are fast times and slow times. Right now is pretty good in our area, but will trail off at the end of the year a little.

Everyone on the east coast pretty much goes to Chicago for orientation. If you are experienced it's only 5 days. If not it's 3 weeks. Driving on Chicago is crazy. They take you on some nice tight streets to see how you do.

    Borsburn and 4noReason Thank this.

Peterbilt15, I'm also a newbie in the Worcester area and am strongly interested in Schneider Intermodal. I had not heard of Duie Pyle until now. Did you reach out to them? It would be awesome to get an update on the info you gathered and what decision you made.
