They are only monitoring the logs for the drivers that get paid cpm and not salary. Since the cpm drivers have to put in a pay request to get paid for the unload they can match the request to your logs. Salary drivers don't get paid extra for unloading its included in the salary so they have no pay request to match to your logs.

Can you tell me about there refresher course? How long did you have to team to get your own truck?

Are you an experienced driver or student? The training is for new student graduates and drivers that have experience, but haven't driven for awhile. It's only offered to drivers who are local to Akron Ohio... no room / board.
The refresher course was 6 weeks long, 3 weeks in the class room and driving, then 3 weeks with a driver trainer.
I was in the first class to go through the training, and it's probably changed and evolved since then. It was a lot like going through driver training school, only being paid instead of paying for the training.
Call and talk to Richard Hayworth, he's in charge of the training.

Ok. Thanks for the reply. Sounds like going back to school but it is what it is.

Most companies want you to pay for a refresher course... this one pays you. You have to pass the course to get hired. The pay structure has changed since I went through the training... I got a $1,500 hiring bonus after I passed the class / driving and the first 3 weeks, then $500 per week with the driver trainer. Last I heard, the company was paying $500 each week, through the whole 6 weeks.

It's dry van, no hazmat, the freight I haul most is tires, salt, and cardboard... but broker loads can be just about anything. I'm no-touch, with a good mixture of drop / hook, live loads and live unloads. I've made myself available to unload tires in a pinch, but have only been asked to do that once in the past 4 months.
I'm home every weekend - usually by Friday evening, occasionally Saturday morning. When I get back on Friday, I leave Sunday around noon, to deliver on Monday.
