Wanting in the industry

38 CPM is more then what a lot of companies pay their new drivers.but the question is how many miles will you get every week.in the search bar on this forum type the companies name.you'll get a lot of reviews from drivers.

 

38 cpm is good for a new guy if you're getting miles. Cents per mile don't really mean jack without the miles to back it up.

 

Asking about what someone thinks of a company is a loaded question, just check the "report a bad trucking company here" section, not all companies will be a good fit for all, what might work for you might not for another, best advise I can give is? if you like what the company offers? maybe they will be good for you, if not, and it's your first driving job, stick it out for 6 months, better for a year, then move on to what hopefully will be a better fitting job, best of luck

 

From what I've heard, Henderson is a reputable outfit to work for. I think they have about 500? trucks... 38¢ per mile is a good starting wage IMO.

 

Believe they have a minimum guarantee if you are available too. @Chinatown

 

From what I've been able to find out, Henderson has about the best deal out there when looking at the big picture.
Guaranteed minimum weekly paycheck for 2100 miles @ .38 cpm and all you have to do is follow the rules such as not being late for deliveries/pickups, etc. Can make much more than that though from what other new drivers that work there are posting.

Again, this is my opinion; the two best deals out there are Henderson and CTL Transportation.
I like CTL Transportation because the student is being trained not only to get the CDL, but for hazmat/tankers right out of school.
Henderson - don't have to worry about those negative or small paychecks. No forced being a trainer.
CTL Transportation - hazmat/tankers from day one.

 

I went to their orientation in the far ghetto of east east St. Louis, I mean Caseyville Illinois. They'll put you up at the Quality Inn which is in the middle of nowhere, but is next to a dominos pizza, a pretty decent Chinese restaurant called Jade Garden, and a McDonalds. They'll fly you in to orientation and send you in a cab to the hotel.

They seem pretty decent but at that time, I was so new I was the only dude in orientation who failed the road test. They sent me on a nice flight back home.

They're going to want you to do a fair amount of team driving at first. Immediately upon landing and being greeted by our cab driver, he briefed us on the fact that Henderson is trying to become mostly a team-driving company.

I think you could expect to make like $800 a week with Henderson, which isn't bad just starting out... I think they haul a lot of beer out of Denver for Coors and such.

Good luck. St. Louis is a very racially divided and tense city. The first guy to greet us, a cab driver, was an African-American guy. When I said , "how's it going?" he stated, "free and proud."
