This happened today near where I live and it was on the news, they claim he jumped out of the truck based on the eyewitnesses. ( maybe he was suicidal )
-
They may have killed it because it was going after the divers...you know how a diver looks like an over grilled burrito to a gator. However, if the burglar would have defended himself and killed the gator, he would face poaching charges from the Fish and Game officers because he was hunting without a license.

Maybe he did that pee between the sleeper and trailer thing and forgot to set the brakes. Didn't mention if Anthony Weiner was hanging out.

There was a guy that did something very similar on highway 58 between Tehachapi and Bakersfield. He stepped out the driver side door to take a leak and he hit a bump and he fell off the truck and his trailer ran him over and killed him instantly and the two or three trucks behind him also ran him over so there wasn't much left of him by the time they got the road shut down. The truck made it about a mile down the road before it went over the embankment.

It's SOP for them to euthanize gators if they've killed a human. Typically once alligators have a taste for human blood they "crave"it.NavigatorWife Thanks this.

It wasn't his fault, he used 3 points of contact...

There have been other posts in the past with deaths like this from rollovers or squishes, but they have been from the truck rolling backward, one guy was pinned to a fence he was closing and the other to the dock . Each case there was an incline, and they think they forgot to set the trailer brakes also. I hate to even imagine being killed this way.
