My Company is better than your company na na na na boo boo...
Really who gives a crap? You like where you are working... Good for you, if you don't, move on and find one you do.
There are happy drivers at most companies and there are disgruntled drivers at most companies. Who really gives a rat's hiney if someone else doesn't like your company?
I will never understand and why people take that personally. If they are talking about the drivers of the company you work for in a derogatory manner, OK I can see defending your honor, but really, who cares if someone got the numbers wrong?

Easy there tiger.
It's a quote, been used a million times .
It infers that statistics can be used several ways to portray different scenarios, depending on the intent.
I am constantly fascinated by the advertising campaigns of companies to attempt to lure drivers - because I'm handy with a calculator and know the industry.
I wish I had a day to sit in the truck stop for a change.jammer910Z Thanks this. -
10 4. .. sorry for the defensiveness.
My shins were being kicked a bit and I was too reactionary.
My apologies.blairandgretchen Thanks this. -
been at crete 4 years......average miles per year ..140,000 mi....$2000 per year profit share .....detention $12 per hr.....it works for me
jammer910Z Thanks this. -
did 140,000 miles last year....300 days out....65 days off......that works out to 466mi average per day
jammer910Z and Wild Murphy Thank this. -
I never do a 34hr reset on the road.
..do them only at home..drive around 9hrs a day for 6 days..then a 7hr day..and repeat the cycle.....so I never run out of hrs.....3 weeks out...3 days home....2 weeks vac.jammer910Z Thanks this. -
I'm in that top 50%. As stated, with mileage pay, detention pay, break down pay, and the 2 times in 2015 that I got layover pay, I will make just north of 70k this year. Add that too the benefits package and profit sharing, well for a company driver I have it pretty good.
I've only been with Shaffer for 4 years. I can tell you I have never had trouble getting home, getting miles, or being lied to. Are there things that I don't like? Well sure there are. However the good by far outways the bad.
The OP might think of Crete\Shaffer is a "school boy company" but I'll take it over most others out there. After all I'm just a 30 year rookie.jammer910Z, iraqralph43 and Wild Murphy Thank this. -
More pay for less work. That's my motto.
Bob Dobalina and Pintlehook Thank this. -
That's all that matters, Driver. Crete/Shaffer is definitely NOT my cup of tea, but its awesome if it works for YOU.

I only make 58 cents per mile. Company pays my medical (less $100) BUT I have to get into muddy/frozen/dusty fields, drive a B-Train loaded to at least 105K down nasty mountain roads (try 15% grade in the snow, ice and mud) and twice last week needed to get towed out of snow or mud. I also wear out my 3 rails regularly, change corroded lights and wiring weekly and the list goes on. But the benefit to this is the pay, home 2 days a week, (more if loading locally) and driving in southwestern BC Canada and eastern Washington/Western Idaho. The scenery is awesome and the drive is never boring. I load when I get to the field, unload every weekday after 1400 and never wait at a shipper/receiver. Also, 50% of my miles are deadhead, so no waiting somewhere for a backhaul.
I have run reefer, pulled maxi flatbed and that life isn't for me. Good on all the drivers that like it though, my hats off to you!Wild Murphy Thanks this.
