I got lucky that I missed all that nasty stuff. Went from Billings to Belgrade MT to unload and then back east. Stopped last night in Moorcroft and the roads were mostly clear in WY. Woke up to all the road closures in WY and SD, guess things got real bad. I ended up shifting down south on us 16/85 and then east on US 26 to I80. A good 50 miles of 85 was ice rink grade frozen road..much fun.

Because you have two different crowds of drivers, the 25 crowd typically know what they are doing, they know how to keep it between the ditches, and still haul butt. Since Wyo. raised the limit to 80, I've watched Rocky double tankers running 80 mph in the snow on 25 without a problem, while the pokies stay out of the way. On 80, you have the pokies and the racer x, the two can't compete and for some reason the pokies don't know how to get out of the way.

Also on 80 you have more LTL's

With the winds blowing mainly across I-80 and along I-25, it shouldn't be hard to figure out.
Strong head/tail winds are easier that a sideways wind, any day.

This is the intelligent answer, not the other macho ball-dragging reasons. Side winds on the 80 get bad and you just sorta slide across. On the 25 they have a tendency to be head or tail winds.

    Moosetek13 and TRUCK3R M1KE Thank this.
